Member X 91 Posted September 2, 2010 Ok, this is a silly question... ... but on a PAM (or any watch) with no seconds hand, it doesn't matter whether you use a 6497 or a 6498, does it? You can use both in the same way without having to make it Destro or anything, can't you?? I'm sure I know the answer but I thought I'd check... lol
Member X 91 Posted September 2, 2010 Cool, as I thought, thank you!
greg_r 81 Posted September 2, 2010 Well, I guess it depends on whether you don't want secs@9 or whether you prefer not to have secs@6....
Brightlight 0 Posted September 2, 2010 You can buy the relevant pinion with and without the secs@9 pin but to replace means taking off the gear train bridge. Snipping off the pin to convert a 6497 to 6498 is not a good idea without removing the gear first as you can easily break the jewel, not to mention getting pieces of metal in the movement, particularly if you have to file down the pin after cutting! Member X 91 Posted September 2, 2010 Fear not, I won't be 'getting my hands dirty'! lol I was just thinking I may order something from Getat, and his 6498 is a bit prettier than his 6497
