McJules 396 Posted May 19, 2014 I need want a new timepiece and i was wondering wich one is the best bang for the buck between these 3. i dress casual most of the time and on occasion, suit & tie. work is mostly jeans/ casual pants with a polo or shirt 1st one is the pam 389 from zfac. some seems to have qc issues wich scares me a little but many love theirs 2nd is the pam 372 with the superclone movement had one from pt when it came out last summer and i kinda regret selling it. cons: plexi glass. it scratches easily 3rd and last one, IWC 3777 on leather or kevlar heard about the pusher issues wich obviously, i would want so a fix would be needed to prevent this this would be the perfect combo for this watch cheers guys! Jonnybaws 5,280 Posted May 19, 2014 I have the 3777, on a McJules leather Love it! I have a 243 Pam (which I choose over the 389) So... by deduction my dear Watson, I'd have the 372, I love its simplicity.. Would look decent on one of your creations Jon
jdog 1 Posted May 19, 2014 Personally, the 372...I know the plexi is a bitch, but the pro's outweigh that con for me.
nuttcrac69 2 Posted May 19, 2014 I am a huge fan of the IWC personally, although the PAMs are also very nice. As they all have their drawbacks I would suggest that you go with the one that will bother you the least. Good luck!
James. 4 Posted May 19, 2014 3777 none of tbe vintage pam reissues look "right" to me, hands are too short on that model. Other ones dont pay enough homage to the originals, the essence so just look like inflated 44mm models with a little faux patina... the 389 looks very strange, I always view panerai as with a ss bezel, the ceramic is in vogue but looks out of place, like an after thought from a designer that didnt wanna miss out on the party no matter how late they are to it. process of elimination leaves the 3777. HWG 11 Posted May 19, 2014 I have had two of the three, the 389, and the 3777. Neither had issues. I miss them both. The 372 with no running seconds would bother me.
Derek Mc 1 Posted May 19, 2014 Not a PAM fan but that 389 is
Kleen™ 45 Posted May 19, 2014 Despite being an IWC afficionado, I'd pick the 372 as it is the more interesting choice...
DR3M3L 4 Posted May 19, 2014 You have my permission to buy the 2nd and 3rd if you buy that 389 as a gift to me

Barth 0 Posted May 19, 2014 Three very handsome watches ! But the IWC can pretty much be worn anytime, anywhere with any suit. It has my vote !

Cheesemonger 0 Posted May 19, 2014 I like both the 372 and 3777. So if it were up to me (and I know this is not always the best way), I would first look at whether or not I want the small seconds on the main dial to help my decision.

Daywatch 4 Posted May 19, 2014 Meanwhile "learned" to get around even without a date but without a seconds complication it´s a tad too much 4me plus sooner or later it gets scratched, so the 389 or the IWC, if getting a new submersible PAM would also at least consider the new KW bronzo. Seriously considering getting one in the future!
