GC 4,534 Posted September 9, 2010 Going for an interview tomorrow... about fuck'n time too! I hate my current job, so I'm very jazzed about the interview! QUESTION: Due to the current economic situation, what watch should I wear? My worry is: too expensive looking and they might think I don't need the job The position i'm applying for is a Chef position in a brand new casino opening in Dec, and yes I am a Chef by trade, not that anyone would know since the job I currently do has nothing to do with the Culinary Arts. suggestions welcome, plz! KeNnY 29 Posted September 9, 2010 hell them, you must be suited well, so they will know, that your last company has paid you good for your outstanding work, and that they need you ! It is all about the personality you will give them
turnipz 0 Posted September 9, 2010 Something clean looking maybe? Shiny, smooth, and clean since its a chef job.

Wear something that is achievable in your field. I don't hold with the "too expensive to think I need the job" or you'd go along to the interview in rags. It is important to create a good impression, be confident and to talk enthusiastically about your work. If you are passionate and show you are, people get carried away with you. It's hardly likely anyone would notice what watch you wear but if you're that worried wear something that's not 'in your face' but classy. Oh and change your name back to GC.......... Good luck with the interview
Guanaco 0 Posted September 9, 2010 I wouldn't worry much about the watch, they rarely notice, but if you must go with something subtle go with a Cartier or a Franck Muller.
Brightlight 0 Posted September 9, 2010 Looking at your options, I would go with the PO or the GMT IIc, leave the bigger watches at home.
KeNnY 29 Posted September 9, 2010 I would wear the Rolex DSSD vote
Guanaco 0 Posted September 9, 2010 DSSD is too thick to go under cuffs not to mention that a sports watch is not something you'd wear to an interview IMO.

KeNnY 29 Posted September 9, 2010 depends on type of suit, if he has or hasn't got cuffs (may have short shirt due to hot weather ?) with or without tie etc.
GC 4,534 Posted September 9, 2010 I'm leaning towards the Omega PO or the GMTIIc... The PO is understated and not pretentious! The GMTIIc is BADASS!

Silverspeed 10 Posted September 9, 2010 Any normal person would hardly notice a watch, let alone recognize the make and/or model ......unless he/she is into watches, in that case go with a naked wrist
coolin 0 Posted September 9, 2010 Im in for PO as you say it is understated yet shows a sense of taste (no pun intended) col
Brightlight 0 Posted September 9, 2010 Im in for PO as you say it is understated yet shows a sense of taste (no pun intended) col Yup, the PO served in a red wine jus with pickled baby vegetables would do the trick
greg_r 83 Posted September 9, 2010 Yup - I'd go for the PO. Doesn't have the 'rich man' overtones of the Rolex and is nice and understated. Good luck with the interview, mate!
KeNnY 29 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) on second thought the omega PO is also very nice. Keep us tuned how the interview went ! Edited September 9, 2010 by 1kenny1kenny1

tick tock 0 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) I vote for the PO because it is understated but if the interviewer knows watches then they can tell you have taste as well....(also no pun intended) :P Edited September 9, 2010 by tick tock
