martin77 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Hi, Can you tell by the serial number whether is rep or not ? Is there any serial number that is commonly used by rep ? I saw that first tree numbers are usually the same 512, 507, 514 ... Thanks
higginsd 0 Posted June 1, 2014 As I told you in another forum: IWC can tell you...
martin77 0 Posted June 1, 2014 thanks. Unlike Omega, IWC doesn't provide that info
higginsd 0 Posted June 1, 2014 OK, so here the same: Sure, they do. You only have to send them the watch... What is your plan? To buy a "gen" Mark XVII? I would NEVER buy a "gen" IWC on a private base, never from ebay or something like that. ONLY from an AD with an offical IWC certificate! I build you a franken rep - for about 1600$ costs - only IWC can recognize as NO gen - and I can sell it to you for 5000$ and you feel lucky because it's worth 6000$... Don't understand me wrong: I won't do this really! But there are freaks outside there doings things like this.

court 12 Posted June 6, 2014 @martin77 I don't think there is a surefire way to tell from the serial number. Perhaps more detail is needed here. Are you buying one that doesn't have papers? Have you found one in the street? Are you looking to sell one? (and want to be sure you're being above board of course) Give us some context and if possible some pictures and we may (collectively not me I'm useless) be able to help. martin77 0 Posted June 7, 2014 Hi Court, Thanks for replay. Yes, I have offer for this watch with no paper and box. I posted similar thread on fellow forum, there are some photos as well. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=185236
court 12 Posted June 7, 2014 Not a deal I'd do to be honest. No box, no papers! That would give you the same challenge if you ever tried to sell. Unless IWC verify that its gen I'd avoid. Your money your gamble I guess.
