profsteve 3 Posted June 5, 2014 Just received a good planet PO from Sead- ordered Swiss. I haven't taken the glass back off yet but I can see the the movement number is 2846. I've never had a 2846 movement. Does anyone know anything about it and how to tell Swiss from ETA. on that movement? I think Sead said that it came from BP factory. Kleen™ 45 Posted June 5, 2014 Pics? I wouldn't trust BP to deliver a (new) swiss mvmt...

Derek Mc 1 Posted June 5, 2014 Hmmm,,, a 2846 is the low beat version of the 2836 is it not? 21,600 21J and is a cheaper movement than a 2836 IIRC but, is indeed still of swiss origin (well made from originally swiss manufacture)
profsteve 3 Posted June 5, 2014 From the pics zinnboy referred it looks Swiss - ETA is very crisp as is the 2846 and the shock spring on the ruby is very pointed and the cross at the end of the regulator is sharply engraved. What is the advantage of a low beat movement in a GMT
Pseudonym 0 Posted June 5, 2014 No advantage, other tha. Overall better quality compared to the usual asian 21J

1littlegreen 1 Posted June 5, 2014 Like Micky stated, low-beat. It came in two different flavors...21j and 17j Workhorse that was just as common as the 2836 or 2824
