NCRich 13,748 Posted October 24, 2016 Sigh.......I am trying to figure out which of the three different models of that pre daytona I am going to order. Probably should just order all three flavors and sell the two I like least. But who am I kidding I'd just keep all 3. This bad boy again today.

NCRich 13,748 Posted October 24, 2016 Oh that is pretty. Every time I see one of those I wish I had gotten it instead of the one I did. DAMMIT I HAVE THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A LABRADOR RETRIEVER!
GC 4,487 Posted October 25, 2016 Lovely. Oh that is pretty. Every time I see one of those I wish I had gotten it instead of the one I did. DAMMIT I HAVE THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A LABRADOR RETRIEVER! Thanks fellas, I was lucky enough to get one of these back when DW was still around. Dumb luck really, I had no clue about Daytonas but loved the dial combination and because it was called the "Paul Newman". If I remember correctly it cost $300 back then. To put that into perspective, I recently bought just a DW dial for $350 that's now in my 6265.
epcp20 0 Posted January 6, 2017 Does anyone have a solution to the problem with the cartel 1680s bezel being too loose (ie popping off at the slightest nudge). I know some people have gone down the route of buying a whole new bezel assembly - but i wanted to see if anyone had a solution to the stock bezel? Cheers

Cheers Having dealt with this many times, your only real option is a replacement like the WSO/Clarks/Etc. You may be able to getting away with taking the bell off and flattening out the tension spring. General this is what gives it the tension to stay on and not spin freely. This will work if the spring is bent too much. If its not, try bending it a bit to try and add some tension. What you can try is taking the tension spring out and putting the bezel back on without it. If it stays on pretty good (will spin very easily but remain on the retainer, then you know you just need to adjust the spring. Sanding it to thin it out some may help as well.
