benjen 0 Posted August 5, 2014 Genuine Rolex Oyster Perpetual, SS/14k-Gold, model # 1005. Serial # 1585697 Date of manufacture: 12-August-1966 Bought new in 1967 - my uncle as a gift to me when I was 14 years. So beautiful. When I hear the name Rolex I think of a face just like this. I have a real thing for those delicate markers. Fantastic piece.

J!m 289 Posted August 8, 2014 A new dial and hands on the 5517! Dial is Whoopy with a Kwazy vintage relume. Hands are Helenarou also relumed by Kwazy to match. Dial and lume job are excellent; hands are a huge let down. Minute hand it too long. Seconds hand is too long, spear is incorrect shape and tail is too long. Does ANYONE make these hands correctly? Another pic:

jdog 1 Posted August 8, 2014 Jim, have you tried WSO's Milsub set? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MILITARY-STYLE-5517-WATCH-HAND-FOR-ETA-2824-2-2836-2-SILVER-5-/170921518203?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27cbb7647b Newly finished 5512 on a NATO for the weekend away. J!m 289 Posted August 8, 2014 The love the dial particularly the coronet shape being Bart Simpson esq. Has this lugs to fit eta or would they need taken off J!m? Yes the dial is excellent. Not sure what you are asking about the lugs(?) but there is an Eta 2784 inside.
J!m 289 Posted August 8, 2014 Jim, have you tried WSO's Milsub set? Yep. Also incorrect (probably the exact same maker) I may try gen Seamaster 300 hands next. I have a set installed but did not measure the pinion sizes before I mounted them. Paint has to be stripped off the seconds hand however because the Omega is white. Sorry j!m I mean the pins at back of dial that secure the dial to a specific movement some for eta 2824 some like Yuki for rolex movement etc

Bigger problem: these are for the 15xx Rolex movement, so the seconds hand pinion is not the same; hour hand as well I think but that seems to be OK.
