What do you think of the new Steinhart Le Mans

I don't like it only because it's such a direct copy of the Tag Monaco. I gotta say, Steinhart's lack of creativity is disappointing.

 

Does steinhart have a watch that isn't a copy of someone else's design?.

 

Not sure, but I don't believe their Apollon auto is a copy of another manufacturer?

To me this watch does not look at all as a Tag Carrera, if we would be walking around those lines then a zenith el capitan and a glashutte original senator are basically the same. Some people trash steinhart for their homages but they do have several of their own and its a respectable watch manufacturer.

Gross imo. Brash but unoriginal colour scheme, rubbish cb, case isnt as well designed as a Monaco, hands are an eye sore, movement is cool, though.

 

If I want a nice manual chrono id rather a speedy.

Gulf colours belong on a Tag Monaco or a Gulf car.

Those subdials are horrible: I hate the 9 subdial markers, they make the subdial look unbalanced to me.

Really don't like the "LE" number as a "faux subdial" at 3.

That caseback.

Case would look better without the hex bolts.

 

Not feeling it at all and it seems ridiculously expensive to me.

 

But then, I'm not a Steinhart fan generally...

I own 2 TAG Monaco (classic LeMans & "24 Concept") and different B&R and when i saw this watch it has been my 1st reaction : a good and modern combination of both world (except for the caseback : ugly !)
