Rubberised strap edges

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to "rubberise" strap edges? Right now I'm only able to color them black or brown, would love to have some additional durable options.

I must be using the wrong search terms in google :-)

Cheers.

PM Serge, he's a very friendly and helpful strapmaker ;) I'm sure he'll help you out.

You need to buy edge paint from Tandy leather factory. It comes in a whole array of colors.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Serge suggested a specific brand of paint, I'll try some, if that does not give the desired results I'll try Tandy - have previously bought lots of stuff from them.

See the keeper edge for the result with Angelus Acrylic paint (the keeper edge wasn't burnished, it is just a proof of concept while I wait for the proper leather).

I have ordered some black from Tandy too (not the Edge Cote which I already use, the proper paint for the rubberised effect)

Thanks all for your feedback!
