baxter 6 Posted July 15, 2014 Cheers Ump ..... it's a Trussart steel deville Ah, I thought it might be a Trussart. I played a Trussart 69' Tele Deluxe style when I was in LA a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Not as strange as you would think. yeah i've got a rusty steelcaster deluxe and it sounds amazing, really warm .... nothing like it looks. Loving that LW Jez! Cheers Vic ...................... are you still done ?
UmpaHimself 222 Posted July 15, 2014 That is beautiful Umpa DC Thanks. It came from Baxter via M2M a while back. The watch took a while to grow on me. I would go for weeks wearing it and then decide I want to sell it. Has happened 2 or three times I think. At some point I realized I don't have to wear every watch all the time, some you can save for a rainy day. Since then it has become a treasured favorite, and I am very glad I didn't part with it as I think I would have missed it quite a bit. Love it! What are the specs on this? I'm working on one myself... Correct 2784 movement etc... Check it! (currently with broken stem and running way too slow- new complete balance and cock assembly inbound from Finland or somewhere) That looks great. Good luck with all that, way above my level. I'm not sure the exact specs on mine. As I said it came from Baxter by way of Daz on RWI. Probably some vintage spec sub case fitted with a Yuki dial or something like that. I think it was a vintage lume job on the hands and a standard 21j movement for it's lowbeat. Currently on a standard Rolex branded flip lock oyster bracelet but I had it on a bracelet from a DRSD at one point, with a Rolex brand crown and blank caseback (always wish I had an engraved one). Originally had a round edge domed crystal but I replaced it with a flatter one, then aged it and the insert mildly because the case, dial and lume already came lightly aged so it didn't fit. The insert is still a little shiny for my taste because I bleached it so at some point I would like to hit it with some coffee or something to darken it a bit. dave47 6,484 Posted July 16, 2014 Tuesday sees the resurrection of an oldie I purchased during the first month of my RWI membership back in the Fall of '09: Rolex 21j Daytona, which I purchased from an RWI mate for about $20 odd dollars (if my memory serves me correctly -- which it doesn't do too often) and haven't worn much. Your basic 21j automatic with the running seconds hand @ 6 in sync with the chrono's major seconds hand; the other subdials don't work and are moved by the pushers. I was inspired to wear this oldie after seeing another mate's version. It IS attractive with the red hands and subdials; great time keeper, too. I'm glad I still have it. dave:
dave47 6,484 Posted July 16, 2014 Gen Rolex, wore it yesterday. BEAUTIOUS! I have a gen '07 DJ on jubilee that was a gift from wifey. I find the DJs to be beautiful, classy watches. Wear it well -- and often. dave

cogwatch 1 Posted July 16, 2014 Gen Sardonix, the bezel is off center by a fraction of a millimeter. Shame on you!!! Unless of course you set it for a dive with the minute hand at 59.8 minutes :-) I'm not OCD, I'm not OCD, I'm not OCD!!!!!
