LHOOQ 0 Posted July 28, 2014 What, no grammar goons here on RWG? The verb form is "patinate"!
markeym3 2 Posted July 28, 2014 I like the patina that develops mine has turned but not gone too crazy .. when I was younger we used to put copper coins into brown sauce .. this used to bring them up like new ... probably a higher acid content ..
trailboss99 997 Posted July 28, 2014 Tb, lemon juice is a well known method to clean these up. Not heard of anyone using ketchup mind you, and have heard of some pretty damn weird things to get some patina (eggs, coffee, copper plating & oxidizing) - might as well leave it in the cats litter tray for a month. Sorry then my bad. Being an acid I would have thought it would encourage patina. Yes vinegar will work great take it right down quickly! Me personally if the watch didn't patina I wouldn't have wanted it, I love my bronzo because of all the gunk it gets! Oh now that is just beautiful!
