SSD...

Sconey wins the prize. :paddy_gold:

I was shocked since that's the one that I wear every time I go to the beach or in the pool. Even been skin diving a couple of times with it. It was the last one I expected to leak. I found a small bit of corrosion around the crystal at 11 o:clock so I assume that's where it was leaking. I've cleaned it up and repressed it and siliconed the gasket. I'll give it another try soon.

The problem with finding the leak with an SSD is the built up air pressure comes out the HE valve, not the point of ingress. Just as it was designed for.

:paddy_gold: I presumed it was leaking via the He valve...

Just pressure tested another one. This time I put a Noobmariner empty case directly in water and pressurized it to a little over 60 lbs for 15 minutes. It passed with no leakage. The SSD failed again after cleaning, siliconing and repressing the gasket. I think I'll epoxy the HE valve and try again.

:D I presumed it was leaking via the He valve...

Right again Sconey! I epoxied the HE valve last night and this morning I just took the case up to a little over 3 atm and she stayed dry.

I'm now 4 for 4 waterproof Rolex cases. My $20 home made tester is fun........;)

You're lucky! Most of the ones I've tested have leaked round the crystal. Those damn white plastic 'seals' don't seem to seal very well.......

I'm on a roll. Just did these two more. Both passed but they didn't surprise me. The Seiko was professionally serviced last year and the PO from Sead was supposed to be good to 3 atm.
