BentleySharp 0 Posted August 6, 2014 i think navy seals wear luminox. or maybe it was zodiac. i cant remember.. I think now a lot of them wear Luminox or whatever else they want. From what I understand the Rolex Submariner tradition stopped some years ago, but it was a tradition in the Seals from the time of thier inception (Early 60's during Vietnam) to sometime recently...From what I've heard. I'm obviously not a Seal, but I found interest in this Submariner tradition. oh yes bently, you are the man with ALL the facts....... :lmao: was it a "guy in a bar somewhere" who told you this? I had a very close friend of mine who was in the Navy's division of the Presidential Guard. They are hand picked and trained to be some of the most disciplined soldiers in the military and is their job to protect the president when he enters and exits air force one and at public events etc... A lot of their duty is ceremonial, like guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier, etc... But in an attempt on the president's life they are trained to act. After his 2 years in the Presidential Guard he was stationed at the Pentagon. He was there during 9/11 and actually saw the plane hit the pentagon with his own eyes from the naval barracks across the street, but that's a different story... Being in such a position he rubbed elbows with a lot of top brass and special forces guys, and it was through him that I heard of this tradition. I was curious if anyone else had heard of the Seal Submariner thing...this being a watch forum and all... Why you getting all bent up about it?
