Gazzla 23 Posted August 7, 2014 Evening All I'll get straight to the point: Why don't some people wear a watch? I asked this question of around a dozen people today whom I knew who and were not sporting a watch. Here are the lame excuses: I've got a phone in my pocket that has the time; why do I need a watch? I only wear a watch when I'm going out I don't want to scratch my watch at work It's uncomfortable I've got a couple of nice watches, but can't be arsed to wear them Unbelievable!! The most surprising thing is that a couple of blokes I spoke to earn enough money to buy ANY gen they wanted!! FFS

greg_r 84 Posted August 7, 2014 My stepson refuses to wear a watch - despite having given him a DSSD... He prefers to rely on his phone... I blame myself, really - what did I do wrong? :dunno:
nofitstate 27 Posted August 7, 2014 I've got and older work colleague who says he doesn't wear a watch as he doesn't want to be controlled by time..... my reply has always been, wearing a nice watch isn't about telling the time. It's a about the beauty of the design and the engineering that goes into making it.
ellistyle1 0 Posted August 7, 2014 Until about 18 months ago when the bug bit, I never wore a watch. I used your excuse #1 above. I spent less money, thought and time worrying about watches too.

dasselin 16 Posted August 7, 2014 I had a Director that when he was passing interviews to would-be applicants, would always Ask the candidate what time it was. If the guy/gal reach for a phone or a pager instead of looking at A watch, that was it he/she did not get the job. I asked him what that was about. He answered if you don’t were a watch you have no respect for time True or not he always got the right person for the job

It's not about the ability to tell the time by flicking one's wrist; it's about wearing a piece of engineering brilliance that looks good tom the eye. Why don't some people get this? Unless they applying for a job as a watch model?!

Call me old fashioned, but I do actually like my watches to tell the time fairly accurately..... .....if they don't tell the time what would be point in wearing one? Im guilty of this myself. I know to tell the time fairly quickly, but even after checking my watch i still check my phone. Its a habit thing.. LOL
