graman 2 Posted October 9, 2010 Huon Pine - Hard to find these days, as Huon logging in Tasmania was stopped long ago to preserve the forest, and an industry sprang up in Tasmaina (which is the only place Huon pine grows) harvesting fallen trees. Huon pine (actually a connifer) is very slow to grow, and very slow to deteriorate. 120 Year old fallen trees are harvested with little or no ill effect to the wood. I have a few lengths that have come in an old wood turner's job lot. So here it is - Huon Pine Slimline pen with Cross mechanism and refill. Natural finish $35USD + $12USD shipping. A bargain for a rare timber native to only one place in the world! Sold to an Aussie! - Hope you enjoy mate!
