graman 2 Posted October 10, 2010 Amazing stuff - one of my personal favourites. Recently made one of these for KinCaidk, and just had to make another! Black palm, like Wenge, is very brittle, but also fibrous, making it challenging to turn. I usually have my heart in my throat when I turn one of these.....you can easily murder it, and to keep my nerves at bay, I end up sanding it to shape after roughing out with a chisel. It takes a hell of a long time to make one of these. Stunning pen...with a stunning grain that catches the light..you can get lost in one for hours. Matt Black (Stealth) kit, slimline pen. Natural finish (you don't need CA on this) Nice balance on this one, using a new kit that has a lovely, weight (Same as the chrome). Using a Cross mechanism & refill. (Fine point - you may like to change to medium point for a smoother ink flow) This stuff is rare, and I have a few lengths only...hope to stretch it out and not waste anything!
