I can't capture how this carbon comes alive with the sun on it.

@semperfi55 fantastic BC but I’m intrigued as to what sub you’ve reproduced here? The first BC sub was the 6204 and I believe the 6538  followed. I’ve never saw a  three liner with submariner perpetual as the first line.

It is a beauty.

There were several "rare" variations of the 6204, when Rolex was messing about with the dial initially. This is a 6204 Split Logo where there is a larger spacing between Submariner and Perpetual, compared to the  familiar "Oyster Perpetual". I saw this on Bobswatches and was instantly hooked.

Mine was a first attempt on decal dials, I had to sacrifice font accuracy due to poorly-optimised printing.  Now I know my printer better, I would like to redo the font, improve alignment of overall decal (SWISS bit is obscured by rehaut) and do something, anything about the lume

Great stuff and work too, thank you!

This is what makes Rolex collectors pay astronomical prices, for the 1 or 2 offs. Every blue moon a Rolex Factory Smith will swap a part during assembly especially dials or use a defective part like the well known defective dial enamel that caused spider web effect and it becomes a rarity, a must have.

Anyway, I shall be hitting the books for sure tomorrow to try and learn more about this 6204.

I'd like to do some ageing on this 1665, not so much "I threw it in the back of a bass boat in the Everglades thirty years ago", as "it's been well worn and loved, but also taken care of". Opinions on what mods I should do welcomed!

@movintage if you're interested in the minutiae of rare and vintage watches, and how to meticulously re-create them @semperfi55 is your guy!
