Gazzla 23 Posted October 11, 2014 Hey guys Need a bit of sagacity from the strap gurus amongst you. I've just acquired a fabulous strap from a geezer in Vietnam for a PAM 088 that is currently winging its way from China. However, I need to make a hole to size it for my wrist. Ordinarily, this would be easy-peasy with a standard hole-punch. The problem is, the hole needs to be made where a horn protrudes. Pic: Can anyone tell me how I achieve this without making a right royal fuck-up of it? Thanks for your help Gaz
Phizzy 0 Posted October 11, 2014 Thats going to be difficult......which I know doesnt help you. How stiff is the horn part on that strap? Even if you could get a neat hole there by drilling carefully, would it sit right in the buckle?
DR3M3L 4 Posted October 11, 2014 What a stupid strapmaker..... :lmao: Weird they made it this way.... Thumbs up for the title by the way!
Sakurai 1 Posted October 11, 2014 the nerve on some crocs, growing horns wherever they please - baaad croc, baaad croc. Jokes aside - that's an awesome looking strap, will be interested in how you sort the hole,
narikaa 129 Posted October 11, 2014 Well one side is double rows and one single If it has to be mis matched why not the other way around?

HeavyKrush 16 Posted October 11, 2014 Personally I wouldn't attempt it but would likely offset the hole to the left or right (off center) then purchase a new buckle with no indentation for the tang.

Phizzy 0 Posted October 11, 2014 Just a thought, how do you know where the hole needs to be if you don't have it in hand yet?
myaz 3 Posted October 11, 2014 You're on the horns of a dilemma Unless it makes the strap way too tight. I'd move the hole left 2mm where the surface is flatter. In your favor is that the pin in the buckle points away from the horny horn.
Not Quite Dead 9 Posted October 11, 2014 If you make a hole where you indicate the buckle will sit between the two horns so that will not be a problem but the hole may need to be angled or wider to allow the pin to sit flat on the buckle rather than poking upwards on the back of a horn. Option two is glue it shut and give up rotating your watches.
