Making a vintage Sub

Recommended Posts

Akira

Hi,

I was thinking about making myself a vintage looking Submariner.

I would buy a cheaper 21J of a current model o if available a model from the 90's and mod it myself.

I have no experience in modding so far and my question is, does it make sense at all?

Can I buy vintage rep submariner dials?

Can I make the dial myself?

Are there any tutorials?

I found these so far

Or should I just buy one of the vintage models?

Thanks for your help in advance

Edit: Thinking about the 16610 model from 1988, kind of that look

You will find it very difficult to get the parts you need, probably better to buy a vintage model. As this will look too new, you then can enjoy yourself aging it ;) There should be plenty of threads here and on the other forums about this.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I thought so, but I haven't seen much cheapie vintage Subs around.

Most of them are Eta, but since I'm no pro in modding I dont want to

touch a higher priced model.
