baruch 0 Posted November 3, 2010 Whell after mine Rolex DSSD from Mary just got last week I want another watch and im going to buy the Rolex presidential day date platinum 41mm. Mine question is does anybody have this watch in there collection? Is it fully SS or do they put a layer of white gold in itt to make it look like it has real gold on itt. Whell i hope you can help me with this and if you can post some pics of your watch i would really preciate that. Thanx Forum members. Greets, Baruch
greg_r 84 Posted November 3, 2010 Uhm - if it's 'platinum' it wouldn't be white gold. Anyhow, white gold is just regular gold that's been rhodium plated. The rep (whether the original is white gold or platinum) will be SS Here's mine:

Ive seen this picture on the Rolex site i wanted this one but thought that they didnt have this. Im going to order this one But one question, does the SS look like white gold or is there a difference in colour? Greets, baruch
greg_r 84 Posted November 3, 2010 White gold has a bit more of a lustre to it so yes, there's a small difference in colour. My wedding ring is white gold - you probably wouldn't see the difference in a photo but if you look closely, the ring is a slightly warmer colour than the watch. On the wrist, I doubt that anyone would be able to tell..

NFleischer 4,355 Posted November 5, 2010 Here's an old 36mm. bought from Ideal for alot of $$. I think its a TWBest or Eddie Lee maybe. I have to say- the 'white gold' look is very good, it has a very shiney lustre. I'm not sure why, but if you look at the bezel for ex; it really glows. It seems more than the regular S/S.
