gtwc 1 Posted November 12, 2010 'lo all. I don't think I'm going mad (early onset Alzeimhers maybe) but.................. I DO recall seeing DSSD reps with the Rollie crown 'laser etched' at the 6 position -or.... was I dreaming? I have searched the trusted sites, to no avail, but my eyes aren't what they used to be. Can anyone help? rgds / gwtc the blind bastard

marinamm20 1 Posted November 14, 2010 the one i have is from T4D - and that have the crown at
prestigewatchco 2 Posted November 14, 2010 You shouldn't be able to see the crown without either a loupe or by catching the light right. If you can see it easy then thats completely wrong and a sure give away it's a rep
trailboss99 996 Posted November 14, 2010 They all have the crown etched in mate. The "Noobfactory" version is quite good as it's very hard to spot. As PWC said, most are too prominent. Col.
gtwc 1 Posted November 14, 2010 Thanks everyone for all your illuminating answers. The reason for my asking is that my father recently took delivery of a near $400 'ulimate' ProHunter DSSD from Josh (Rolex clone movement - ugh!) and I have examined it v. closely with an illuminated 6x magnifier, a 10x loupe and there is no sign of a crown anywhere near the 6 position. I know - it must be a rep!!!!!
mbjoer 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Perhaps they all have the crown by now, but mine (think it is a V3) does not. This is one watch which seems to have undergone endless improvements, so be careful which version you get.
KBH 7 Posted November 25, 2010 Perhaps you guys should try again. I had a DSSD that I swore didn't have a crown etched on it. I checked it 3 or 4 times and never found it. Bu ti was there all the time. It was much smaller and more discreet than on my other Rolexes.
trailboss99 996 Posted November 25, 2010 Trust me guys, like KBH says, it's there and on the new ones just as hard to find as it is on the gen. Col.
Tristan123 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Trust me guys, like KBH says, it's there and on the new ones just as hard to find as it is on the gen. Col. I Found even when looking through a loop you have to get the light to shine off it to see it so you need to try looking while rotating the watch slowly to get the light to shine off it
prestigewatchco 2 Posted November 25, 2010 I think they have crowns at 6 but don't check them all it can take ages sometimes to catch the light right
Eiderdaus 0 Posted November 25, 2010 Mine is from Robert and it took me 5 min to find it but it is there. Just smaller as on other reps but as tough as to find on my gen 16610
mbjoer 0 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Nope. I have looked for over a year now, and it is not there. I don't know much about the watch other than it having a swiss ETA, and nicely ligned up rehaut engravings. But no crown etched in the crystal. Here is a picture. Guess it proves nothing other than me not being able to catch what is hard to spot, but anyhow... Edited November 29, 2010 by mbjoer
roberto 24 Posted November 29, 2010 I have looked for over a year now, and it is not there. I do hope you've been doing over things over that period, too
ussr 0 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) @mbjoer, its there. I can see it faintly in your picture (could be dust particle thought!) LOL. You will really need a magnifying glass and catch the light at the correct angle to see it. I went blind last night looking for mine. MikeMcNair 0 Posted February 8, 2011 mine is so tough to see i don't even point it out to people who would like to see that kind of detail. but it's def there, i have seen it, it just took me eleventeen minutes......
