sunbites 0 Posted December 26, 2014 So, my Miyota started going a bit fast today; gaining 6-10 minutes a day. Any self regulation that can be done or should I get it serviced?
JSJ 0 Posted December 26, 2014 Did it just start this on its own? Regulating is generally quite easy but you probably need to know the reason it sped up.
sunbites 0 Posted December 27, 2014 Yeah it's my daily beater, and it just started randomly today...
sunbites 0 Posted December 27, 2014 Yeah, left it overnight and it gained 20minutes :-/
JSJ 0 Posted December 27, 2014 Well that's probably possible to regulate but it also probably not a good sign that it spontaneously started to gain that much.

flyr 4 Posted December 27, 2014 Did you leave it on a speaker or near anything else highly magnetic perhaps? It may have become magnetized. A jeweler/watchsmith should be able to demagnetize it for a couple bucks. Won't hurt to try. Good luck! P.S. I picked up a cheap demagnetizer from ebay like this one for just such emergency's.(works well on screwdrivers) http://www.ebay.com/...s-/161522691034

rusty peters 0 Posted December 27, 2014 If you were in the Conus, I would send you mine and you could return it when you are done. If you can't find a demagnetizer let me know.
