GenTLe 1,510 Posted January 8, 2015 In the last 2 evenings I serviced my NF POLM, this one (42mm): and after the movement was back in shape and I was ready to re-case it, my attention was taken by the fake HE valve. I have to say it has a very good construction! It is equipped with 2 OR (rubber gaskets) and it's composed by a long screw that screws in the center of the crown and rotate with it, plus a spring that keep the external gasket against the case, but working over a washer to avoid damaging the or, plus a screw-in crown. Here the valve disassembled (sorry for the bad pic): And here 2 pics of the fitting place, 1st from outside of the case, then from the inside: I have to say that I liked the way it has been realized, and I believe that with some silicon grease, it will be waterproof without the need of further intervention. Cheers, GenTLe
Lars_St 0 Posted January 8, 2015 Ahh, the helium escape valve, a great thing... unless you lose it like I did.. What a journey it was to get a replacement valve haha. Nice review mate
SSTEEL 0 Posted January 8, 2015 They can indeed be waterproof without sealing these up
