New lower-price version 111 dial

What do you guys think about this dial?

Lume is Japanese Luminor which is supposed to have a brightness and longevity similar to Super Luminova C3.

Price is $120(USD)

Do you guys think it's worth the extra money, compared to for example a DSN dial ($60 dial + $30 hands)? I meanly mean in terms of similarity to the gen in the sense of numeral shape and color.

Well i'm recent to this rep world but i've been reading a lot (don't post so much) don't know the price of DSN dial so just comparing the look:

For me the DSN dial has a big flaw wich is the "3" to open;

It was usefull to have a picture of the dial "front face" to be able to compare the "2", and the lettering, but in general it looks much better than the DSN;

one flaw is the "LSML" placement;

So i think none of them it's perfect but for me it's more important the correct shape of the numbers than the placement of the "LSML"

Just the 2 cts of a noob

Wombosi are you thinking of modding your $99 Pam from Robert?

I don't think its worth the money for a $99 Pam.

Even with a gen dial, a Pam expert could spot the case is a rep in no time.

All other people wont notice at all

no matter which dial.

Yes, Akira. I am.

The main thing that 'annoys' me on my current $99 rep is the numerals being too yellowish. The low luminosity doesn't really matter me.

Since the only EU based 'relumer' I know (Domenico from RG), charges 100 EUR (about 133 USD) for reluming dial and hands, I supposed it was cheaper to just buy a new dial.

The LH dials are really nice, but to expensive for the purpose of my mod. I might be considering a DSN dial, but probably second hand, because $90 for a new dial/hands set is still a bit too much for this purpose imo.

I actually thought the case of Robert's $99 PAM was quite ok in the sense of shape and build quality compared to the gen. If you like, feel free to point out the differences for me on the basis of my pictures. I'm actually quite curious to see them!

This would take some time

here is a thread on RG comparing DNS case to gen

http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=9051

The things I can see as a difference are marked it this gen pics

Robert sells a great watch, even more if the price is considered.

The differences are minor, like I said.

Differences are polished CG pin.

Lever thickness.

Space between lever an CG

Crown shape.

Thanks! Those pictures and the thread over at RG are very useful!

Any further advice regarding reluming or buying a new dial? Taking the costs mentoined above taken into account.

Mods that I'm planning to do in any case are the canon pinion fix and the cg pin fix. Partly because of the fun involved. Reluming seems to be rather difficult however.

As I said

my Pam will be relumed by Skathewatch.

He said Panerai is using Superluminova C7 as well.

He will make a sample for me.

I can send you the pics and you can decide wheter or not you like it and drop him a PM :thumbsup2:
