H-factory AP Ceramic Diver

Recommended Posts

PolonusTM

I just received AP ceramic diver - the one from H-factory, from Joshua P/C (this is exactly the same watch they used as QC photos example since apparently I was the first to order). I had their previous creation before - FC Diver from H-factory, so the differences are:

- MUCH better AR on sapphire

- better AR on date cyclop

- better, more solid internal bezel operations, with nice click and no play

Other observations:

- the caseback engravings are truly as per gen, deep, with correct fonts, sized and placement (they claim to have a gen for replication purposes so it pays back)

- the pattern on dial seems to be spot on to a gen: looks like flat, semi-matte, black “chocolate bar”, without any “microwaves” on surface, with exact shapes in correct as per gen places.

- all texts on dial seem to be spot on to the gen hi-res photos I could find

- lume application on internal bezel is flawless one.

- both crowns are ceramic as per gen (not rubber clad ones)

- the movement is normal and non decorated but rotor is correct one, with precise, not too deep engravings AND with correct mounting plate: two holes, two screws and a ruby at the centre as per gen.

- ceramic case: all the edges, sizes of polished or brushed areas, sizes of facets etc. are truly as per gen.

Funny things after comparing to gen photos:

- lume application on internal bezel seems to be more precise on the rep than gen :)

- these titanium tabs connecting strap with case are of experiencing better “SEL fitment” on rep than on gen - no gaps at all.

Conclusion:

H-factory definitely HAS a gen of this watch (Joshua / PC promised to send me gen parts / rep parts photos after Chinese New Year). This is absolutely killer replication apart from the movement. The rotor looks cool, anyway. Fair price is a cherry on the top.

Wow! Thanks for sharing mate.

The 4 of the 40 is way better on this than on the noob version where it is too pointy and overall finish looks great!

Only downside is the movement as the noob version has this:

I guess this is the only AP I could bond with. Buy one from H-factory and one Noob, swap the movements and you have an almost perfect rep. Might consider doing that if I get my full bonus next month.

Official confirmation from my watch smith was that the movement is Seagull's copy of eta 2824-2 albeit dusty. After servicing it runs like a champ. Definitely not the same movement as it was n H-fac FC diver; cost cutting is in the "dusted" movements. Watchsmith stated the movement was new but looked like spent some years in the drawer without dust protection. The oils dried up.

Nice, I noticed this the other day and have always liked the SS version of the Diver :)

All-black watches don't really suit me, though :(

I wonder if anyone sells an orange strap for it??

Looking good.. the H-Fac is also a good 80-100 USDs cheaper than the Noob..

Will wait until after CNY to see if JF/J12 come out with their version.

Will then decide what to get..

The Noob may have a decorated movement but you don't see that when its on the wrist, the smooth glossy dial is a big no for me..

If JF can take the best of the H-Fac and Noob, thay may be the one to get...

If not, I can live with the movement on the H-Fac because the dial looks so much better!

Thanks for sharing :D

This has the makings of a beautiful friendship.

Noob Ceramic Diver + H Fac Ceramic Diver = Ceramic Super Rep...

To quote Chad Michael Michaels: "BOOM"

While the JF might be "better", the Miyota isn't as good looking as the A3120 decoration on the noob....

Not sure if JF aren't coming out with a newer decorated movement after CNY mate..

Will see whats what before pulling the trigger, for me, I'd rather have a better dial over a decorated movement with a not so good dial..

Unless I start wearing the watches back to front :lmao: then I'll go Noob :giggle:
