IWC Portuguese 3714-46: updated dial - mini review

Recommended Posts

kennycoder

I know this watch was already reviewed hundreds of times but now there is an updated dial version that, I think, comes from InTime. Everything is the same as on the latest ultimate v3 version like jerky secs @6, utterly shitty leather strap and an AMAZING watch. Man this thing is gorgous. I think they did a proper job with this new dial and curved "4". Pics time :) :

Yep, DHL guy just dropped it here ^^. Since I didn't get the v5 sub from one member here, I had to treat myself with something

To be honest with you, since it's a dress watch, I think it will hold on all right for couple of years because it will be used once or twice a month tops ... Worth the risk!

This watch has grabbed my attention since i purchased my first rep! The seconds @ 6 scare the hell out of me. I have heard of the graphite fix, but is there a way to freeze the seconds @ 6 completely to make it reliable?? I to would only wear this thing once or twice a month.

kenny.. definitely a stunner you have there!

I got i too mate, it is nearly perfect. The only trouble I had wit it is that as the bezel is not screwed to the midcase, but only pressed, the tachy mooved spotaneously. I had to disassamble it and put it back in place.

How jerky is your seconds hand? Mine is quite ok, but at some places it's feels like 14.400bph movement. On the other hand, chrono is silky smooth.

It is actualy quite ok and mooves rather smoothly, only at about 45 secs it seems to slow down, but then somehow makes it to 60 in time:)

Chrono works well, but i don't use it that often.

Nice watch. Mine lasted about 15 months of day to day use before the movement died.

The top chrono button fell off after a week.

Would still buy another one though, its loveley.

Damn nice watch. If it wasnt for the sec@6 issue, I would get it in every color combo. Thanks for the review.

Same story here, I actually lost the bottom chrono button the first day I took it out (got entangled in lady's jumper) but never had a problem. I wear it very regularly (alternating with my Patek Nautilus) and actually quite like the asymmetrical look of if without the bottom button.

I'm getting the gen as a treat now, knowing how much I love the rep

Thank by the way, almost of the TD sell it. Is depend on which movement you wanted. A7750 will cost more and mingzhu set is cost about 108USD..

Still thinking which movement to get it.
