Suddenly have two Big Pilots, which should I keep?

Recommended Posts

Five weeks ago, a guy working in my house walked off with my Big Pilot watch and Omega Planet Ocean. Long story short, I got the Big Pilot back. Between the time that the watches were taken and the Big Pilot's return, I bought another BP.

So, now I have to decide which one to keep. I want to keep the watch that is the most accurate to the gen.

The only difference that I can see is that the watch on the left has a squarer triangle at the top while the one on the right is more pointed. I think that the squarer one is more accurate, but I am pretty much a noob.

Which ever watch you decide to keep, don't forget to do the DASI mod and upgrade the band! It really makes a difference for the better.

The one on the right seems more accurate.

What is the DASI mod?

You are right about the straps. I upgraded both with straps from SergeD

Hell... the accuracy doesn't matter.... I would keep the "recovered" watch........ it makes a GREAT story.. ;)

I hope you disposed of the workman's body properly. :)

+1 for keeping the recovered watch.

I'd say you're pretty darn close with both. Look at the gens on Chrono24: the triangle on the right seems a hair closer but that takes eye strain, therefore no one will notice.

Keep them both for a while see which one keeps the best time or has the smoothest rotor action. Check how the crown screws in and works as some have had crown and tube issues.

Thanks for the responses. I think that the watch on the right (from Rochest) has the more accurate dial. The downside about that watch it is that it has ever hour lumed, when the gen has only the 12,3,,6 and 9 dials lumed.

The watch on the left (from Tim) has better lume, keeps amazing time.
