What's your most noticeable piece?

Recommended Posts

Ice_Man

Now as watch enthusiasts, we all have developed the skill of what I call "wrist gazing" known as the ability to either spot and recognize a nice timepiece, or spot and bring up our curiosity to ask. In fact the other day I was able to spot a TAG Aquaracer 500m chrono on the wrist of a guy; was it a gen or not? I didn't get a good enough look to tell.

Anyways, what I want to know is what are some of your most noticeable watches in your collection? Rep or Gen doesn't matter.

For me, and I know I haven't been in the hobby for too long unlike many of you; I would have to say the most noticeable piece for me is the PAM 243. Just the size and the unique shape/style that is Panerai watches always poke the curiosity of people. Although with those factors plus the addition of a well matched aftermarket strap, the PAM always gets inquiries about it. In fact, I had 2 people today ask me "what type of watch is that?" Which then I proceed to go straight watch geek and bore them with facts haha.

So what are some of yours?

ladies love panerai. i'm too lanky for a bronzo/submersible, but the 111H seems to get a lot of looks/comments.

i own rollies as well, but they're dress models, so they're pretty anonymous compared to the PAM.

52mm DSN EGI on a baseball glove strap. Size and a unique looking strap make a lot of people look at it, gotten a few "cool watch" comments, but no one ever asks what it is or what it's supposed to be

The watch that gets most attention by far is my V2 Ploprof, followed closely by PAM243. I've ordered an Invicta Subaqua Noma IV 6555 2 years ago and sold it to my buddy two days later and I haven't seen so much attention being paid to a watch in my life. People just stare at it when we go for a beer and some of them even ask about it, it's crazy, they love the horrid thing..

Don Ramon. Don't wear this watch if you have issues with people asking about it!

toss up between these two. the Hublot at 56mm w/CG and the PAM at 55mm w/CG. Both tend to be rather eye catching for a comment or two

+1

Apart some bitch attracted by the shine of rose gold Hublot chrono or Montblanc...

They are kind of funny: completely ignoring you until they see the timepiece, stare at them with $ eyes and suddenly start chatting...

Much as I'd like to say my 243 and my IWC 5004, it's always the Rolex reps that get the comments.

PAM 382 is the watch that I have had most comments on and everyone seems to like it very much

That really is gorgeous - having seen the gen a couple weeks ago, the blue color on the dial is just about spot on. That gen Breit strap you have it on is just icing

I disagree, I prefer your sundial.

My most noticeable piece (although the Grahams do get some attention too):

I would also have to say that the Montblanc Star GMT also would always receive some compliments.

Your 382 looks fantastic with the polished bezel! Did you do it yourself with cape cod?

And onto the original topic....my wife pinched my 351 with gen croco strap and it always draws compliments (and I mean the watch and certainly not the wife!).

This one seems to draw attention too....I think it's mainly due to the ceramic/steel TT bracelet.
