toomanywatches 0 Posted December 8, 2010 Finally done with my 6154 Submersible Fantasy Project... if the Big Egi had a sleeker Vintage brother. Extensive reworking of an Jackson Auto/47mm Submersible. To achieve the manual conversion had to shorten distance between crown tube and rehaut....Without access to lathe/CNC machine had to fabricate a rehaut extension (pretty much a movement ring placed in front of the dial) using the movement ring that came with the automatic movement. A lot of filing/dremeling by eye and hand... Due to dial space had to slightly shorten minute hand to avoid colliding with rehaut. Started life as this: Final Specs: -Jackson 47mm Submersible - Reworked and Reshaped -Molnija 3602 -Modified 6497 Stem -Rehaut extension made from existing/auto movment ring. -Kbiz/HF Tribuna Omaggio 2533 Dial - Painted by me/Lumed with Lumtec GX and Testor's Glosscote Lacquer -Tourby Vintage Gold Hand set -Neckyzips lugbars, after reshaping and drilled lugs -DSN Brevet Crown and Tube (drilling out old tube with 4mm Cobalt bit) -Vintage Pearl ( Jeweller's Epoxy and WatchLume Vintage Lume) -Ammo Strap by Antiquewatchstraps (Ebay) Can see rehaut extension/layer between original rehaut and dial: Turned out really well, wears amazingly well and runs like a champ!!! Thanks for looking...

zivadavis 0 Posted December 12, 2010 VERY cool amalgamation of modern materials and "old skool" design.....that is one outstanding piece you have made....i followed your other posts on this profect and was wondering how it would turn out...as they say a pic is worth a thousand words and in this instance 10k words....i could go on for many paragraphs but the pics speak for themselves looking forward to the pics of one with a case guard....when you are done with the cg project some pics with both pieces side by side for comparison would be awesome if thats not too much to ask... you have some serious talent and skills can u possibly provide some pics of this one with the entire strap included?.....from what little of the strap i can see it looks pretty nice
