Pratt 0 Posted April 9, 2015 Bought a River 3pc Hornlug .. Nice case set but seems like the bezel , crown , back case, buckle all stainless steel finished. Felt that it doesnt matched at all , so i decided .. WAS like that Did some magic boil egg and torching with brass to get it all coated Magic egg works ! Left some crown work .. Trying a new brass wheel .. turns out coarser
peteins 3 Posted April 9, 2015 looks really nice, i love this case bu didnt like the fact that it was ss with bronze, i ended up with a DSN slob case and love it! can you explain how you got this effect with a little detail, I know its all over the Homage forum but for members here it wold be pretty good to know how its done. I too would like to know! Great work!!
Pratt 0 Posted April 9, 2015 yeah there are a few ways to do it . 1. plating with some electro stuff 2. brass wheels and some propane torch . need precision adjustment on the heat and fire . lastly steady hands and safety goggles. PS: make sure its stainless steel. i might make a spare one anytime.. cos i got two .. the first was experimental, works out well !
