Frankt8242 1 Posted June 2, 2014 Set the time to my cell phone, and wore it every day for a month... I selected this one because it has by FAR the crudest 21J movement I've ever seen..! Today I'm pleased to announce that after a full 31 days of operation, it has gained 23 seconds!! The moral of the story: Don't judge a book by its cover..!! And BTW...I paid $100.00 M to M for it @ 5 yrs ago!!
Conex 0 Posted June 2, 2014 Well Trabants can run for years without a service but they still look crap lol Fun experiment though and keeps good time obvs.
SSTEEL 0 Posted June 2, 2014 The 21J movements as a whole get unfairly judged thats for sure, they can be bloody good workhorses.
Frankt8242 1 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) The 21J movements as a whole get unfairly judged thats for sure, they can be bloody good workhorses. I can recall posting that pic on another forum when I first bought it, and I got "heckled" quite a bit... I asked if anybody knew what model it was and the primary reply I got was: "a model you'll need to replace next week!!" elp 26 Posted June 2, 2014 If you put it on on 1st May, and wore it for 31 days, why does it show the date as the 13th?
Derek Mc 1 Posted June 2, 2014 Superb, I have two in my Y/M and Bentley very similar and they are as good themselves. Less to run means less to breakdown! Y/M dates from 1993, the Bentley from 2006
rusty peters 0 Posted June 2, 2014 I love it when those little runts punch above their weight class. I have an SMP with some 21j that keeps COSC time. The fact that yours ran for five years surprised me.

The fact that yours ran for five years surprised me. It actually sat in my watch box for most of the time as do the vast majority of my reps...You can't wear them every day when you've had @ 100 of them floating around!! Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted June 19, 2014 Not in remission- maybe just a new favourite. Nice to see the watch powering on after 5 years.

abs0025 0 Posted June 19, 2014 Well I for one am shocked. Pretty good for a cheapie.
rusty peters 0 Posted June 19, 2014 I have had the least problems with my 21j watches. A2824 and A2836 have been anecdotally the least reliable. I ride my bike with an oooold sub with a 21j that looks like it was nailed together by apes and it runs great with good power deserve.
mysterio 18 Posted June 19, 2014 If you put it on on 1st May, and wore it for 31 days, why does it show the date as the 13th? So it gained 23 seconds and 13 days? I have a fantasy Patek Philippe skeleton cheapie I bought for 30$ in 2008. Still runs and keeps excellent time to this day.
