Just for a chuckle, I put this watch on on May 1....

Set the time to my cell phone, and wore it every day for a month...

I selected this one because it has by FAR the crudest 21J movement I've ever seen..!

Today I'm pleased to announce that after a full 31 days of operation, it has gained 23 seconds!!

The moral of the story:

Don't judge a book by its cover..!!

And BTW...I paid $100.00 M to M for it @ 5 yrs ago!!

The 21J movements as a whole get unfairly judged thats for sure, they can be bloody good workhorses.

I can recall posting that pic on another forum when I first bought it, and I got "heckled" quite a bit...

I asked if anybody knew what model it was and the primary reply I got was:

"a model you'll need to replace next week!!" :giggle: :giggle:

If you put it on on 1st May, and wore it for 31 days, why does it show the date as the 13th?

Superb, I have two in my Y/M and Bentley very similar and they are as good themselves. Less to run means less to breakdown!

Y/M dates from 1993, the Bentley from 2006

I love it when those little runts punch above their weight class. I have an SMP with some 21j that keeps COSC time. The fact that yours ran for five years surprised me.

It actually sat in my watch box for most of the time as do the vast majority of my reps...You can't wear them every day when you've had @ 100 of them floating around!! :giggle: :giggle:

Not in remission- maybe just a new favourite.

Nice to see the watch powering on after 5 years.

I have had the least problems with my 21j watches. A2824 and A2836 have been anecdotally the least reliable. I ride my bike with an oooold sub with a 21j that looks like it was nailed together by apes and it runs great with good power deserve.

So it gained 23 seconds and 13 days?

I have a fantasy Patek Philippe skeleton cheapie I bought for 30$ in 2008. Still runs and keeps excellent time to this day. :D
