Will you pay extra...

Question - top class watch with the best tourbillon available.

Same movement, top of the line, and choice - manual and automatic.

Will you pay extra $185 for automatic?

are you talking about the new seaguls that are out with auto bridge??

I've got a manual wind tourby now, and I love its reliability.. so it would depend on how reliable it is.

I wouldn't buy a tourby. Too many fragile moving parts asking to break down.

That said, if you gave me one, I'd go manual to give the tourby a break when not in use.

That likely pushes the retail price of the watch to over $700. It's a tough sell. I'd rather have a manual and buy another decent watch with the difference. That is, unless the crown is stupidly small and difficult to wind.

Ok for this price, I'll manual wind: http://www.ttw168.co...roducts_id=1406

Even at this price... http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=241_244&products_id=1405

Will go for manual purely because it gives unobstructed view of the tourby, front and back. (Tourbillon are mainly for aesthetic reasons in modern watch making IMHO)

Also with so many watches around, i will not have enough hands and winders to keep it running.

Moreover, it wouldn't even be my daily beater!

Don't have the Chinese Tourbies have problem of over-winding lowering their lifespan ? IF the automatic module "upgrade" will fix this issue, making them more bulletproof prolonging their life, then yes. if not, then HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL NO

No, they don't have this problem, at least Seagull 8000.

I never met an autowind that I did not love, but some things should stay old school.
