How to turn a low-beat Invicta with crap timekeeping into a high beat, within COSC standards, using only a timegrapher and 10 mins of time.

First you have to look at the crappy performance of my Invicta. It's a low beat movement and rubbish timekeeper. First shot on the timegrapher.

The auto-beat detect correctly identified it as 21600bph, and it has a poor accuracy. Changing the beat setting manually to 28800 doesn't work, as the display is all over the place, and the time error is so big that the machine can't cope.

So, out comes my trusty Longines, and on the Timegrapher this is much more what I want.

Push the stop button, and replace the Longines with the Invicta. Looks good, but the red light is on showing the Timegrapher has been stopped.

Fortunately, this can be solved by a change in camera angle.

And there you have the job done. I would of course only show the final image, as more than one image would show the watch time moving on without any change to the Timegrapher display. (This can be seen by comparing the last two pics) Anyone want to buy a Hi-Beat Invicta, regulated to COSC standards?

Yeah, exactly, black. The "QC" pictures are so easy to fix and that has been obvious to many of us for a long time.

Perfect for selling cheap quartz! Nice to see, after your explanation in the other topic about the high versus low beat movement

Even I couldn't get away with selling a quartz and showing Timegrapher images. :suck:

No you couldn't! I would be better at that, I can play the Noob card - "I thought my quartz was beating at 28,800"

In truth, the reason the Invicta was so bad in the first image was the battery needed changing. In the final one, with a fresh battery the motor had speeded up to the correct setting. :hide:

Thank you. I have a feeling I know what inspired this and I'm glad it's here for the naysayers to see.

Ahem.... PERFECT example of how an unscrupulous seller could pass off a 21j as a CLONE movement. Am I on the right track here?

Sweet and there was me thinking you had done a movement swap :giggle:

Or you could just use photoshop for perfect results cut n paste the digital bit - with your faked shot you can tell the watch is in the way of the stop LED .
