Patek Phillipe Nautilus 5711 1R (my grail watch)

So after plenty of baking and forthing with Toro and Godfathar, I pulled the trigger on the 5711 1R by MP factory. I was advised that this rep is riddled with innacuracies, but I had to go for it.

 

For those that don't know what innacuracies I'm on about here are a list of a few:

 

- Biggest flaw in this rep is the shape of the endlinks. They are much wider and longer than the gen, and also much bigger than the SS version from BP, which as far as I am aware are same as gen.

 

- There are also holes in the case where the bar secures the bracelet.

 

-(EDIT, dial is correct)Pretty sure the dial color is wrong but it still looks great.

 

- etc etc etc

 

Another thing that bugs me is the bracelet, the deployment is probably a little too tight, so it's not the easiest watch to take off the wrist, again the BP bracelet is much better and feels more solid.

 

Now enough of the negatives. I do actually like the watch a lot, I probably like it more for what it could be, more so than what it actually is. On the wrist it looks great, date wheel ticks over bang on 12, not sure how long the power reserve lasts as I only got it yesterday so will update on that soon.

 

I think I paid 328$ plus shipping dhl.

Plating is good and even, although the " hallmarks" on the bank are back to Ss, doubt it's through wearing it as I've only had it on for 4 hours!

Im real glad to hear that & it sure wears like a million dollar watch.

 

Unlike the gold plating on hublots & certain APs, this is truly reassuring for those who may like to pull the trigger on this.

Congrats buddy for the latest grail. I truly appreciate the watch. And would have pulled the trigger if the end links were the correct size. That's what stopped me. I can live with the rest flaws.

 

One question, why do you think the color of the dial is inaccurate

The endlinks do bother me slightly but i can live with it for now, main problem is the quality of the bracelet!

 

With regards to the color, it just doesn't seem as dynamic as the gen, not seen any videos of the watch but judging by the photos in Google, it starts off as a dark brown and in the sun has a dark yellowish tint. If you see with the picture I attached bellow, it seems that on the rep the goes very shinny brown ( which I do actually like )

Yeah I see your point.. but remember it's with certain lighting and certain angle you would see this yellow tint. So it shouldn't bother you.

Little update on this...

 

I am loving the watch but the weirdly shapped end links is becomming ever more annoying... Due to how they are shapped, the watch doesn't sit flat on the wrist, instead it sits at an angle. This problem probably wouldn't occur if you take 1 link from either side of the bracelet, but for the perfect fit I had 1 link less on one side than the other, so as one side wraps around the wrist as it should, the other side of the bracelet kind of comes down verticle from the end links.

 

I'll upload a picture of this later to help explain better.

The rose gold will not wear off that easy, I've had a rose gold 5980 for a couple of months and it still looks great.

Yes gold plating is fine, I use the watch in rotation so wear is minimal

The endlinks are big but they are suppsoed to be that shape to support the leather strap, the problem is that when they made the 5711 1R they didn't redisgn anything they just used the same end links and made them fit the bracelet.
