Anyone here ever opened a Precisionist?

Recommended Posts

Daffy

I bought a Wilton model, 96b183. I wasn't satisfied with the hands, so I ordered a set off another model that uses the same movement.

Anyone with tips on how to open up this thing and take out the movement?

Thanks in advance!

D

No lume, and all hands including subdials are black. It looks like this:

So I ordered the lume hands, blue second hand, and two sets of the subdial hands off this one:

I ordered two subdial sets in the hopes that I can replace the subdials with all blue hands...

Sub @ 12 gonna look odd too ...

Movement is the same though .

I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I had no idea if the hands would be the proper size. I took a shot in the dark with a set that looked to be from the same movement.

Nicely done! I wouldn't have thought the changes would have such an impact - completely elevates the watch though.

This model runs around $200 street price. The new hands were right at $45 for all of them straight from Bulova. $25 to have them put on...

Lovely bud. A nice variation would be to leave the original black hour and minute hands.

Perfection! Did the hands fit perfectly or was it a struggle getting them on the posts?

I have no idea, since it was a watchmaker doing the work. I dropped it off in the afternoon, and got a call the next morning that it was ready to pick up.

Very nice! It took the watch to a higher level!

How about a lume shot then?

Cheers!
