TheSociety 0 Posted September 27, 2016 I'm not a pro but these are the things I notice after receiving both my SW200 Grey dial and BP V2 Blue dial. BP V2 PROS -correct bracelet endlinks -great shine on blue dial -decorated movement (looks very nice!) -well priced at $358 BP V2 CONS -too thick (10.5mm vs GEN 8.5mm) -noisy noisy noisy! -bracelet construction quality, while GOOD, is not as amazing as the SW200 (see below) -bracelet is new pin style and difficult to size (at least my case) SW200 PROS -AMAZING quality and construction (on par with JF15400 Quality size) -did I say Amazing quality?! -super quiet movement -thin thin thin very close to Gen at 9.3mm vs GEN 8.5mm -feels like a gen watch on the wrist because of quality and thinness SW200 CONS -inaccurate holes in first link of bracelet -incorrect first endlink size -no decorated movement (minor issue though) -price $528 vs BP $358 Overall I would chose the SW200. Yes the bracelet is not accurate but it FEELS amazing on your wrist and is very quiet and not to mention a reliable SWISS movement. The drawback is price but imho it's worth it. You can see the quality of the bracelet in the photos below - notice how the SW200 is nice and thin, it doesn't make ANY noise (the bracelet) because the links are so close and tight fitted. That being said I love the BP V2 as well so you really can't go wrong either way! Very fortunate and thankful to my friend for his help obtaining the SW200 gray dial which is pretty rare to come by! Onto the pics! Blue dial is BP V2! On LEFT in the thickness comparison photos
TheSociety 0 Posted September 27, 2016 great comparisson!to be precise the gray dial is only available with white gold case and on a leather strap. Thank you! And yes I do understand the gray dial is specific to the leather strap but I love the bracelet on it anyhow. I will definitely look for a blue dial SW200 to add to the collection ! _DC_ 218 Posted September 27, 2016 Interesting comparison, it's good to see the thicknesses side by side! The SW200 is actually slightly thicker than the undecorated Miyota so between decorated and undecorated Miyota there is a big difference! But it looks like all that extra thickness is carried on the caseback so on the wrist might not notice?!? I did a comparison a while back between the SW200 and the original undecorated Miyota, I completely agree on the quality feel of the SW200 because of how quiet and solid the movement is, but case quality is pretty bad in my opinion. It's solid but poorly moulded/shaped, look at the lugs, the SW200 on the left just looks like a blob, the Miyota is sharp and square just as the gen is... An SW200 movement in the Miyota case would be perfect!! Not gonna happen though, factories now seem set on persuing these decorated movements. They are nice, and in some watches they're not a problem if the watch is meant to be that thick, but in Nautilus and Calatrava models it just doesn't work! Member X 91 Posted September 27, 2016 Awesome thread, thanks chaps These are 'on the list'! Could the 9015 movement be quietened down with a service / tiny drop of oil on the rotor bearings?
Leafblow 0 Posted November 17, 2016 Well that is one expensive 5711 rep, but it appears to justify that cost :o
GenTLe 1,542 Posted November 18, 2016 Awesome thread, thanks chaps These are 'on the list'! Could the 9015 movement be quietened down with a service / tiny drop of oil on the rotor bearings? Yes it can be. I wrote a small tutorial in the past on this topic in the repair section.

Brendan777 0 Posted December 14, 2016 Very nice. I think a decorated movement is a must for me, it's just too big of a tell to ignore.
_DC_ 218 Posted December 14, 2016 Very nice. I think a decorated movement is a must for me, it's just too big of a tell to ignore. Ah the ignorance of youth (I say that, there's a fair chance you're older than me lol)!! I wish decorated movements would f*ck off back to where they came from and that factories would concentrate on developing better dials/cases/bracelets instead! Wrist-Time 0 Posted December 14, 2016 I would go for better dial & case before decorated movement. It's not something I really fuss about.

SamsonAusKognito 31 Posted December 16, 2016 Great watch review. And honestly, who cares about a decorated movement, when the case, dial and bracelet is as superb as you described, it's a stunner

Tony-hk 0 Posted December 24, 2016 This is a really well done review. I'm torn between one of these and an aquanaut. Seriously, get both. They are amazing rep. Very versatile and seriously good looking watch. On a side note, I have got more compliment on my 5167 than my 5711.
couleur 0 Posted March 29, 2017 Is it possible to mod the SW200 swiss movement and caseback into BP V2? Then you get a better quality watch and accurate bracelet, but with gen like thickness? What do you guys think?
