RepGuy 108 Posted March 4, 2017 I'm not sure who this is aimed at, but I don't know many members willing to shell out over $4K on a replica Rolex. It is said to have been worked on by Swiss trained watch smiths, and is claimed to be entirely solid 18k gold. I wonder what the wait one is for one of these when ordered, I can't imagine they have any stock saved up! http://www.pf-818.com/rlddf10100-18k-president-fg-diamond-markers-swiss-eta-2836-2.html
Nickfive 4 Posted March 4, 2017 LOL Thanks, but no thanks.
watchcraze 3 Posted March 4, 2017 LOL At that price, I'd buy a used gen.
Stewart 0 Posted March 4, 2017 The gold alone is probably worth that much. I have seen Day date bracelets go for more than they want for this watch...of course those were gen bracelets.
onzenuub 307 Posted March 4, 2017 I challenge Josh to send one watch to me. O I could make a review of it. I wil send it back after doing so.
fatarms 7,777 Posted March 4, 2017 Are the case, crown and clasp all supposed to be different color gold from each other?

RUSH2112 11 Posted March 4, 2017 Fake watch for fake people but real gold for real idiots
rawbaws 91 Posted March 4, 2017 If I was in the market for a solid gold watch and I could be assured that it was in fact 18k gold.. it would be pretty appealing despite the fact that it is a rep. I don't know what the weight is but if you're only paying 3 or 4 hundred bucks for the guts and labor and the rest in gold weight its hard to go wrong (gold price fluctuations excluded) as you can always resell for scrap rather than as a 4k rep. Where else can you buy a watch for spot price plus a modest fee for labor?
FlyingSpur 0 Posted March 4, 2017 Well gold is about $1234 per ounce today in CONUS. Not sure what that watch weighs... but what I found was a gen "melt value" is roughly $5K to $6K... in 18K gold. So, something seems fishy even if you just buy if for the gold value. JMHO of course.
rawbaws 91 Posted March 4, 2017 Some discussion here saying about 4k when spot was a lot higher. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=188771
TheTinMan 13 Posted March 4, 2017 I'm starting to think the rep factories are fucking with us now. Soon we'll be paying gen prices for fake watches. I'm going to have to agree with FlyingSpur, something just doesn't add up.
AJB2 0 Posted March 4, 2017 I've got to ask...Why would anyone even want a solid gold 4K fake when a second hand gen can be bought in the UK for about that price? Maybe not that model, but if you want a real gold watch buy a vintage gen. It's what I did & ended up with a great JLC.

narikaa 129 Posted March 4, 2017 I ve had a few solid gold reps through my hands over the years They have their problems Not least of which shipping liabilities (I always travelled back with them) The other 'worry' is assayed by who exactly?
Theduke.williams 1,039 Posted March 4, 2017 Payment by Western Union only! Um... Let me see...... No Way Jose!
RepGuy 108 Posted March 4, 2017 The issue is that the dealers have no way to tell if the rep is actually solid gold. I doubt they test these for gold content, and just take the factories word for it. Pair this with the "Western Union Only" payment rule for this model, and you're left with no recourse if the watch turns out to be good plated or messed up in some way. After all, while PC has been good in the past for handling watch issues, I feel like it's much different when you are talking about $4,
WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted March 4, 2017 Sure there are some guys next door at RWI that would go for that!!!
