spiderman 0 Posted February 4, 2012 Hi, Today I will share with you all the result of hard work .... I make my own damascus buckle! what you see in the picture is the prototype As you will see from the pictures I have preferred the use of spring bars instead of the screw to simulate the buckle sewn (I really like the look of the old straps ..) and give the possibility to replace it and use it on each strap. now I need your help and ask all your advice, what do you think? here are some questions: - "Could be successful in the production quantities?" - "You would use to you?" - "What would you change from an aesthetic point of view?" - "What do you think the use of spring bars?" thanks in advance for all your responses. here are the pictures: ..and this is the result of much work..... particular of the holes for the spring bars measures: and here it is mounted in some straps... thanks for looking! P.S. sorry for my english......... :undecided: my only help is google traslator

gtwc 1 Posted February 4, 2012 That looks seriously nice, well done !!!! Dependant on price (as always) I would buy one. As long as Greg R and the mods agree, please keep the boards informed as to your progress. Nice work.
gtwc 1 Posted February 4, 2012 Further to my last post, I would personally (and I suspect most Pam addicts would as well) prefer a screw bar fitting, like the gens......................................

Luthier 1 Posted February 4, 2012 Mokume Gane, or Kasumi Uchi, is the combination of different metals. Damascus steel is layered metal strips of the same type of the metal. Fantastic buckle, mate, just fantastic!!! I agree - screwed pins is the best way.
gtwc 1 Posted April 12, 2012 Well Spidey, any news on the forthcoming availability of these proposed beauties?
Bertram 0 Posted May 11, 2012 Here is a site I found selling some damascus buckles. I think these, as well as the fantastic one you made, would look great with the pencil lead Panerai cases. http://www.aescustomknives.com/docs/gallerycustompaneraibuckles1.htm

gtwc 1 Posted May 11, 2012 They look good - interested to see prices. Not quiiiiite as god as Spiderman's offering..... JMHO.
Bertram 0 Posted May 12, 2012 I like Spiderman's offering too. The pattern that is folded into his buckle is more interesting. I think it is interesting that the ones that are offered on that website are almost .25" thick (5.5mm). I wonder how that would be to wear. I did think that this one was pretty cool, but again it is 5.5mm thick. No idea on pricing...
sam77 0 Posted May 12, 2012 I don't like it at all, it has a cheap dirty looking (to be honest) sorry
