Hazz 0 Posted April 28, 2012 Read his post last night, this morning I removed bracelet from my new Submariner, and soaked it in WD40 for a few hours, I could not believe the difference. So much unseen dirt came off, washed in hot soapy water, and bracelet is sweet. Feels smother. Thanx Silverspeed.

Amit 72 Posted April 28, 2012 Good job mate. Shows you're doing your reading. Another alternative to wd40 is bike chain lube. Go for the dry lube and that makes any bracelet buttery soft.

Their are some excellent threads about this process for the mechanically challenged like me

therockerz 0 Posted April 28, 2012 I don't know what dry lube is :/ Wd-40 idea sounds cool, but I read somewhere where people were discussing if it causes corrosion?

mrs1986 0 Posted April 28, 2012 I don't know what dry lube is :/ Wd-40 idea sounds cool, but I read somewhere where people were discussing if it causes corrosion? I dont think it could cause corrosion, it actually cleans all the dirtyness of the bracelet, so i dont think so... The dry lube chain is some kind of dry grease for bicycles chains that it is supossed to slowly release the "grease" and gives the chain a lot of live and while beeing dry and clean I dont know actually lol

Trolex 0 Posted April 28, 2012 Something I've done is spray a bit of windex into a zip lock, just enough to be able to get a little pool of it if you were to hold it up by a corner. That really seems to brighten the brushed SS watches up and get rid of a ton of filth out if you agitate it over the watch and especially the bracelet. Make sure everything is sealed well before if you're going to put the watch head in though
P4GTR 0 Posted April 28, 2012 I came up with the dry lube bracelet fix a few years back. http://www.rwgboard.com/board/index.php?showtopic=5898&hl=%2Bbracelet+%2Brattle+%2Bfix&fromsearch=1 You'd think it'd be a sticky by now.
