houndoggie 58 Posted December 13, 2012 This thread is to honor the legacy of the horological side of "Bobby Watches" Please post your past and present and favorite PWC watches as a tribute to Robert James! Dec 14 is the one year anniversary of his passing, so I am putting this up a little early so those folks who live in the future, east of me, can fully participate. If you still have your watch, please honor Robert with a new picture that you best think captures his spirit. Unfortunately, my pieces have all moved on to new owners but here are mine: and probably many more... Cheers Robert!!!!

persilh 0 Posted December 13, 2012 Nice idea for a thread HD. I only bought one watch from Robert but it was a great watch and a great transaction with a top bloke. Like your watches HD, the one I bought has moved on to someone else, but here it is anyway.
dalboy 2 Posted December 13, 2012 Had a few off Robert over the years..all have been moved on.. Robert was a genuine guy ..his knowledge was beyond belief ..honest . and never suffered fools gladly...... He is sadly missed...
Balad1 0 Posted December 13, 2012 Actually just sold the last on my reps purchased from Brother Robert. I'm sure the new owners will appreciate them and wear them more often than I did (considering I like buying more than wearing) lol. I'm my opinion this is a fitting tribute to a dearly missed friend to RWG. Ted
goodgood 0 Posted December 13, 2012 This watch is not on my wrist yet, probably be here this weekend, I bought it from Balad1 and he got it from Robert. I don't know Robert, but he was so well liked here and at other forums and I feel that it is an honor to pay tribute to him.

Del 4,469 Posted December 13, 2012 Had a few from Robert myself including one of the original white fantasy 21j AP Divers (I think Robert was first to supply these):- P3265712v3 by Bjorn Dajoak, on Flickr Also the Breitling SuperOcean Abyss A2836:- SuperOcean II 1 by Bjorn Dajoak, on Flickr
fe22ari 0 Posted December 13, 2012 He was my prefered dealer. I liked his no nonsense way of doing business. Even though I somehow screwed up all of my relatively few transactions, he still showed me a lot of patience despite his reputation. All the watches I had from him have been passed on too but they were my first PAM 111, a daylight on metal and an Aqua terra day date two tone. His watch auctions were a quick way to spend too much money.
wat44 0 Posted December 13, 2012 Don't forget the Robert give away watch - Corum for the Forum at RWI
ron76 0 Posted December 13, 2012 I have only one from Robert, I wear it as my daily beater. Ron
Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted December 13, 2012 I bought my first watch from Robert and it was so easy I ended up with 20 or so from him over a year. He was always good to chat to in the shoutbox and I miss his comments and observations. 'Robert's' watches I wear each week include: 217 Sub C 339 SOSF RIP Robert. Anyone remember his '3 for' deals and the big auction?
NFleischer 4,355 Posted December 13, 2012 A few more as well, posted in one of the 3 other threads. With all respect, maybe we can combine them
Aren 27 Posted December 13, 2012 I bought the first rep I bought for myself from Robert...but this is my last and favorite watch from him: I know I don't keep the date current, but I can't see it, so it doesn't matter to me. Robert told me that this watch was as rare as hens teeth. He liked this rep alot. I am proud to own it.
Member X 91 Posted December 14, 2012 I didn't know you had that one, Aren! Classy as always I bought several from Robert, most of which I still have Senator Sixties in both black and silver dials are favourites and come out fairly regularly, my Explorer 1 39mm is one of my all time favourites (but has been no end of trouble ), I have a $99 Fiddy, and I also used the Reseller Special offer to pick up a 21j 39mm Explorer 1 ($57, I think?!!) and a PO Chrono (beast!) for a guy Oop North who wanted a piece of the bargain action. Robert always reminded me of a classic Del Boy character. There are sadly few such people around nowadays, 1 less since Robert 'moved into a new market' (I'm sure he's got some deals working out nicely wherever he is ). The world is a duller place without him!
Arism 26 Posted December 14, 2012 I was only around for a few months before he passed away but his no-nonsense approach, entertaining SB entries and opinions are something I do miss. A great dealer and one for the books.
WebWind 1 Posted December 14, 2012 I have only two watches from him, but they are keepers And this watch from Robert has my missus

greg_r 81 Posted December 14, 2012 Given that Robert was my favourite dealer (even before he was on any of the forums - I first bought from him when he was on iOffer), I've got a lot of watches that came from him. Here are a few to be going on with The first is one he talked me into buying when I was actually looking for something else and it's possibly the best rep I own: This runs the Cartier a close second in terms of quality: This was the second Fiddy I bought from Robert (the first was a cheapie). It was the best available at the time, but has since been surpassed by the noob version. I still have this one as well, though.. There's quite a few others too, but this post is getting long enough as it is
Thang 582 Posted December 14, 2012 Wow! What a collection!. I love that Submersible. It look so cool.
