Rolex GMT 1675 franken for steve227

Recommended Posts

Hello all :)

soooooooo finally this long project has been finished, I have finished most of the long period jobs, and some will be finished in coming days (thank god for holiday lol). One of them was this super amazing Rolex GMT 1675 franken.

Here are some pictures of the watch that has came to my hands

As you can already see there are some things what are not good. For instance the dial has got removable indexes so we had to paint the indexes to dial, what was something I never did before. Next thing you see the CG are no good as well so we had to reshape the case as well. And at the end as you can see the bezel insert is not in the bezel assembly as it is bigger diameter then the bezel it self. So we had to trim it a bit to fit the bezel. Also I did my first aged tritium look on this watch. A mate wanted washed up lume , puffy lume, that is already in decomposition or similar effect.

What we have done to this watch:

- redrilled lugs to accept gen fat springbars

- added gen aftermarket springbars

- replaced crystal for gen like aftermarket GMT crystal for 1675

- Repainted dial indexes

- Relumed puffy lume C3 superluminova aged tritium look indexes, hands

- Replaced datewheel for vintage silver look datewheel with open 6 and 9

- Reshaped case

- Repolished case

- Bleached bezel insert

- Regulated movement to work within COSC limits

- Greased all orings

- Waterproofed to 3 ATMs

Pics of progress and finished watch :)

Amazing work Matej, really amazing :) Love what you did with hour markers, looks so gen...

One quesiton about bezel... the blue part on the bezel looks more aged then red part. Was that on purpose or is the red part more age-resistant?

Or is it just me?
