P4GTR 0 Posted February 10, 2013 This is my oldest rep, a V1 Steelfish purchased from Josh 6 years ago. It has been well kept, seeing light rotation. Came with a brand new Swiss ETA movement at the time. Anywho.. I thought my swissfish deserved a present, so I swapped out the blue rep dial for a gen black one. I originally planned to send it off to have the hands lumed to match the dial, but once I saw how close the rep hands were to the gen dial I decided to leave it be for now. Here's a few pics, enjoy. Frankened! The gen dial really pops. I was in denial before. Transitions from rich black to a creamy black with a faint gloss silver undertone The AR sometimes makes the dial appear blue Thanks for looking. Bottoms up! As awesome as our reps can be, the gen SFSO dials are so well done that they are a treat to upgrade. There are actually quite a few differences rep/gen. The color is richer on the gens, also: -The lume cups on the gen have smaller silver borders. -The date aperture window is thinner and crisper -The 12.6.9 & hour markers are applied to the gen dial as apposed to the reps stamped dial which leaves a "hill" around the numbers. -The tail on "Superocean" has a pronounced curve on the gen, the rep is straight -The small "14" at 2 o'clock is an easy spot. The crest on the 4 is pointed on the gen, and flat topped on the rep -The dial print is overall thicker and clearer on the gen I paid $200 for the dial. Thats about the cheapest I've seen, when they are on ebay they go for about 2-300. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

P4GTR 0 Posted February 10, 2013 I posted these on RWI by request, posting them here for you guys that don't migrate around.. Here's the Logo macro pics as requested. The logo is done very well, I can't see much difference personally. First 3 are gen dial, last 3 are rep dial. Gen.. And rep.. And lume shots. The lume on the dial is obviously better than the rep hands. The rep pearl is excellent, superluminova just like the gen. The uncharged color matches, the hands don't hold a charge like the gen hour markers. Superlume hands would be a wise upgrade when doing this swap.
