Member X 91 Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) Ok, I've started this because a question that quite often crops up is "What is the best rep?" and I thought it would be good to have just a quick list of the reps that are the most accurate out there. I don't think the question will ever go away so shouldn't we just have an easy reference list?? I appreciate that it may mean that people can just turn up, find this thread, find what they want and then not participate in the board much, but then aren't we here for the greater good - to stop people being scammed, even if they don't want to partake in forum life to any great extent? It would also mean that dealers/factories can get more trade off the better reps and (hopefully) be persuaded that the extra time and energy expended on making a rep a Super Rep is worthwhile and should be repeated in the future, leading to better reps for all of us (Well, that's the theory...) So, please feel free to copy and paste the list below into your post and add yours at an appropriate alphabetical point (or amend mistakes), with a link to a seller or review if you're so inclined. I hope to update my suggestions with links later but I need to do some work today... lol So, I would begin the list of Super Reps that are available as follows... Audemars Piguet (AP) Royal Oak Offshore (ROO) Divers v2 (with square datewheel and correctly spelt caseback engraving) - $298+ Bell & Ross BR02 - $250-300 Bell & Ross BR03-92 (2892 version from Trevor, now discontinued) - $160 Breitling SuperOcean Heritage (SOH) v2 non-chrono (ETA version) - $250-300 (discontinued) Breitling SuperOcean Steel Fish (SOSF) - $150 -200 Breitling Avenger Skyland chrono Cartier Santos 100 - $1600+ Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL Chrono 2007 (grey dial) Concord C1 Dewitt Academia Chrono Ebel 1911 Discovery chrono - $300-350 Graham Chronofighter IWC Aquatimer Costeau diver IWC 3714 (concepta-supplied franken with gen movement version) - $800-1500 IWC 3717 (v1 or v3) Omega Speedmaster Date - $275-$325 Panerai 104 Ultimate - $400 Panerai 005M (from Hublot Factory, the "H Factory") - $218+ Panerai 111h (from Little Hero) - $1100+ Panerai 111M (from H Factory) - $218+ Panerai 112M (from H Factory) - $218+ Panerai 176M (from H Factory) - $218+ Panerai 177M (from H Factory) - $218+ Panerai 288K (from H Factory) - $258+ Panerai 292K (from H Factory) - $218+ Panerai 318L (from H Factory) - $218+ (NOTE: The 005, 318 and the 292 are more Super Reps than the other H Factory PAMs because they have closed casebacks - the rest are display casebacks and the movements are not quite accurate, however all the handwind models have slow-beat Asian 6497s rather than the gen-like high-beat versions.) Panerai Ferrari Chrono (various versions, as pictured in this thread) Rolex DateJust II (ETA versions) - $200+ Rolex Daytona (vintage seconds-at-9 versions from Yuki or David Wong (DW) or Speedmaster) Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller (DSSD) (ETA version with correct-10 bezel) Rolex Milgauss (ETA version from the Milgauss Factory) - $160+ Rolex Sea Dweller (SD) 'Super Sea Dweller' (SSD) version - discontinued Rolex Submariner v3 from WM9/BK - $600+ Rolex Submariner LV v3 from WM9/BK- $600+ Rolex Yachtmaster from WM9/BK - $725 Sinn U1 (ETA version) - $250-300 Sinn U2 (ETA version + canister-thing mod) - $250-300 Sinn UX (I think? ETA version) - $250-300 Sinn U1000 (ETA version) - $250-300 Tag Heuer Aquaracer Chrono Tag Heuer Link What do you think? Should there be the UNs on there? The quartz tag reps? Little Hero PAMs? Big Egi? IWC 3717? More Breitlings? Of course, you want to know who to buy them from, don't you? Click here and you will find out what you need to know EDIT: edited 12th May 2010 15:52 GMT to update list EDIT: edited 25th August 2011 18:15 GMT to add H Factory PAMs + APROO Divers + discontinued BR03-92 Edited January 16, 2012 by Member X
Killasam 0 Posted May 12, 2010 I think its a great idea to have a list of the best reps. like you said even if people just have a look and the leave the board. the theory is abit wild but you will never know unless you try
graman 2 Posted May 12, 2010 Good idea... What about the IWC Big Pilot?....Josh has one that is claimed to be reverse engineered. Panerai 212...same claim Brietling SOSF Opinions?
alistairw 0 Posted May 12, 2010 I would have added a couple of breitlings to the list. The one Graman mentions SOSF and also the Avenger Skyland 7750 Chrono, both excellent reproductions. However I'm only a noob and no expert, I have both watches and when compared to the Breitling catalogue I can't pick the differences.
houndoggie 58 Posted May 12, 2010 glashutte senators sixties is not a super rep. It is the wrong size amongst other things. Omega Speedmaster Date reps are very, very good. The TAG aquaracer chrono is very, very good. Little Hero's 111h is very, very good.
KBH 7 Posted May 12, 2010 Agreed with th SOSF. UN's? Nah. They just don't have the feel of a gen. Feel cheap to me. Costeau Divers deserve some thought. Two for the almost super rep category. I'd say Omega Speedmaster Date and the UPO. So close. Also the V2 SSD should be considered. The Yuki, DW, Speedmaster vintage Daytonas? Plus scratch the franken IWC off your list - You said "out of the box".

I have to study the Speedmaster Date reps more carefully to determine its authenticity. Others to consider: Graham chronofighters Dewitt Concord C1 .... prestigewatchco 2 Posted May 12, 2010 best i have ever seen although not on general release are panerai 233 panerai 307 18kt frank muller and rolex president Super submariner from a very small factory in HK these were all fearfully expensive but frighteningly close to Gen
Omeg@007 0 Posted May 12, 2010 Thanks, very helpful thread Hope to see more watches through time
Member X 91 Posted May 12, 2010 glashutte senators sixties is not a super rep. It is the wrong size amongst other things. Good point, I had forgotten about that. From the front it looks great but movement is wrong as well so I'll remove it from the list. Agreed with th SOSF. UN's? Nah. They just don't have the feel of a gen. Feel cheap to me. Noted - I haven't got one but they look good in pics lol Also the V2 SSD should be considered. I'm confused as to which one this is... It's not WM9? Plus scratch the franken IWC off your list - You said "out of the box". By franken I meant Concepta-supplied franken, i.e. bought by him, modded by him and sent to you as a finished watch. Sorry, I didn't make it clear! I'll amend the listing. best i have ever seen although not on general release are panerai 233 panerai 307 18kt frank muller and rolex president Super submariner from a very small factory in HK these were all fearfully expensive but frighteningly close to Gen How frightening is frightening? lol Still cheap compared to gens?? Will update the list in a moment!

KBH 7 Posted May 12, 2010 The V2 SSD is the one that's currently available. Been out for quite a while. WM9's not available yet, but it better be a super rep since I'll be waiting almost 2 years by the time I get it. PS: I put a couple more prices in for you. IWC Aquatimer Costeau diver (infact, all the IWC aquatimers chronos are pretty good)

NFleischer 4,355 Posted May 12, 2010 How about the AP ROO- some say the Black Themes is very gen like. They have these threads on the other fora all the time. btw- some of the older reps are very good- like Cartier Roadster, IWC Ingy, even the Omega Constellation i showed today is excellent. greg_r 83 Posted May 12, 2010 The Santos super rep is amazing, but it's $1600. Might be worth mentioning that as the cheaper ones ain't in the same league
