ellistyle1 0 Posted January 25, 2014 Patina (the one that has been with me longest): On the original strap: Lume: Nomos Tangomat GMT I bought the last Autodromo Prototipo with a blue face. I had a silver one and missed it after I sold it. LLD! Pelagos Ranger Looking to offload this guy. I am missing some things still for the perfect collection (as I have defined it). Only grails and impulse buys from here on out!

Left Coast Guy 29 Posted January 25, 2014 I love the Archimedes. Not sure I'm sold on the bronze, but that is a solid pick.
ellistyle1 0 Posted January 25, 2014 Nice mix. That Bulova looks in good shape for its age. I tried cape cod and head light polish as soon as I got. It made a world of difference. It is a cool little watch. It works as a dress watch, but I intend to give it to my wife so she can perhaps appreciate these watches a bit....
ellistyle1 0 Posted January 25, 2014 I love the Archimedes. Not sure I'm sold on the bronze, but that is a solid pick. Bronze was the only way to go for me once I discovered the brand. It is cool to see how the patina has developed.

ellistyle1 0 Posted January 25, 2014 Loving the ML, looks superb and that JLC looks great on the Nato, boy I miss that JLC........... :( Funny you say that, Boycie. I didn't mention this when I bought it from you, but I had an NSD before...I sold it shortly before buying the ML. I missed it, had an assload of $ in my paypal account and yours came up for sale. I have no impulse control.

Khronos 1,339 Posted January 27, 2014 I love the Solebox, what a stunning color combo!! Tell me, is it on the same level as other better reps ( like the JLC for instance )? Is the rubber sticky and has a not so funny smell? Gotta get me one of these after the CNY...
ellistyle1 0 Posted January 27, 2014 I love the Solebox, what a stunning color combo!! Tell me, is it on the same level as other better reps ( like the JLC for instance )? Is the rubber sticky and has a not so funny smell? Gotta get me one of these after the CNY... Solebox is nice--it has the great AR. I wouldn't say it is on the JLC NSD level, but I think that boils down to my taste preference. It is close and believe I it is on the superep list. The rubber doesn't smell, but it collects dust like I collect watches. I got the 2813 movement after reading some threads about the eta clone movement making the 24 hour hand slip. I am cool with the jerkier sweep and the $100 it saved me.
Khronos 1,339 Posted January 27, 2014 Thanks for the info, always good to get some feedback from a person who actually owns one. I'm having trouble making my mind between this one and the Ultimate ( Hour glass edition ). But I think this one will be the winner, I love the orange on black contrast, but I know i will hate the dust collecting strap..Great collection you have there, congrats! I'm having trouble making my mind between this one and the Ultimate ( Hour glass edition ). But I think this one will be the winner, I love the orange on black contrast, but I know i will hate the dust collecting strap..Great collection you have there, congrats! I briefly had a U1. Also a nice watch, but it turned into a C&R for whatever reason. I prefer the Orange contrast also. The red felt a bit conspicuous. I am thinking about a different strap, but I like the deployment a lot and the curved strap ends. To fill both criteria, you spend some coin.
Khronos 1,339 Posted January 28, 2014 Yeah, quality doesn't come cheap.. I've seen a pic of Solebox on a thick brown vintage leather strap and it also looked awesome. I wonder what's the price of gen Sinn rubber strap, that may be the way to go. Sinn is not sold in my county, but I can always e-mail them and ask for the price. I've checked out gen rubbers on eBay and watchrecon for these. They're in the $150-200 range. I may give the thick vintage leather a whirl as you suggest. I also really like nato straps. Or perhaps I should walk around with a can of compressed air and blow it off every 30 mins.
Khronos 1,339 Posted January 29, 2014 That's a pretty steep price for a Sinn strap...Does the price include the deployant? Man, I hate those sticky rubber jobs..they also tend to pull out wrist hair like an insane animal. Nothing worse than pulling a sweater over this kind of strap, there's like a billion dusty fabricky particles on it that are impossible to clean off. God, why do I always fall in love with a watch during CNY..why.. I think it would look great on a Caitlin 4 strap from Gunny!
ellistyle1 0 Posted March 12, 2014 I updated it. I have a PO and a 1016 in the air. Perhaps time to stop buying watches.
