austinsom 47 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Hi all, I thought this may be of use to peeps trying to decide whether they have a gen ETA or a clone, so before sending off to Kenny for a transplant, thought I would post some pics of the Hangzhou I just got. This one has not been stamped up as an ETA. I didn't want to take it out of the case, as I'd probably somehow manage to destroy it If you want to go fullsize, just keep clicking the pics to go to photobucket. Hope this helps someone Edited February 4, 2014 by austinsom
SSTEEL 0 Posted February 4, 2014 That looks like a clone of the 2834-2 seeing as it has the day wheel too.
austinsom 47 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm a bit fuzzy when it comes to movements, as I am still new to this. I have seen 2836 movements with a date wheel, is there a difference?
SSTEEL 0 Posted February 4, 2014 They are pretty much the same, the 2834-2 shares around 90% of the same parts.
austinsom 47 Posted February 4, 2014 Thanks SSTEEL for that - it's helping my understanding of watches. I'm hoping to pick up a non-runner of any sort of swiss/clone to see what I can learn. I wouldn't have known the difference between those two looking at the picture, if they're that similar, that is an impressive skill
DR3M3L 4 Posted February 4, 2014 Looks like a great movement, where did you buy it? At this point I'm trying as much different movements as possible. I am creating an excel lists with alternative movements to the ETA ones I can recommend people to buy and use in case of a dead movement. Sometimes it's cheaper to swap a movement then servicing
austinsom 47 Posted February 4, 2014 It seems to be nice and clean, so am hoping it will be nice and accurate! It was an ebay special, seller religiopassion I think - they actually make a Black Bay Homage watch as well which I found on their website
