RichardMiami 4 Posted February 27, 2014 My thoughts and some background for the new members who might read this thread: The issue is, in my mind, what is good for the community. This watch could have been good for this community, but it has turned to crap and is now a disruption. Luthier (George) turned his back on us voluntarily. He can come back any time he wants. Unless you think he was afraid of an argument (then you are a noobie here) his departure was and still is a purely childish temper tantrum. He is entitled to do that. He made promises about the RWG version of this watch. None of those promises have been kept, and status reports have not been forthcoming. He really doesn't owe us any. Since he asked no one for a deposit of any sort, he is entitled to never deliver the watch here. Please remember (talking to the recent members now) that this is not now and never was an official RWG project. From Day One, staff here made it clear that there was NO endorsement of the watch. However, almost all the staff, myself included, signed up to buy one. I will not speak for any others, but I am no longer interested (I posted that a while back). He has bad mouthed this community in our sister Forums. He has a right to his opinion, but he is obviously not man enough to come over here and tell us what he thinks of us. Now, he has chosen to rebrand the watch as RWI (except the crown? WTF?) He is NOT entitled to do that, IMNSFHO. The design of the watch was not his alone. It was a collaboration between him and one of our Moderators (Solk). George himself stated several times that Solk did the overwhelming majority of the design here. A logo change is a design change and it was altered without consultation with Solk. This is arrogance. To turn your back on a person who helped you so much is, as we say where I come from (Brooklyn, NY), a low class move. (OK, so I cleaned that up). I truly don't give a crap any more if the watch is ever produced in any iteration with any brand. The circumstances surrounding this project has already hurt some members here to the point that they (plural) have stopped posting altogether. I hope they come back, as they are missed. As for George, I am sure that he is comfortable in his "holier than thou" arrogance with his new sycophants over at whatever watch forum he chooses to participate in. But he does not have any concern for a community of which he was an early member. I trust that the door didn't smack him in the ass too hard on the way out. OK, now I feel better.
