I just want to tell my a bit detailed sory and I know everyone here appreciates a good photoshoot of reps To the mods, an IDEA. Why not to make a My Story section to this forum (with some rules). I’m always happy to see a fellow members story and the best thing would be if they where all in one place! So ... my story! Man ... it has been hard work getting my collection together. Mostly the funding part of this rather expensive hobby ... even if dealing with reps. It all started 5 years or so ago. My first rep was Tag Heuer Calibre 17 quartz ... I found out about reps accidentally at iOffer (don’t recommend buying anything from there). Obviously the seller had pictures of original watches at his sales ad but I took a chance. What the hell ... the risk was not that great and the seller said, the watches look good. When the rep finally arrived I was baffled to say the least. Something I had spent 100$ looked that good and close to the real thing ... and BOOM ... I was hooked. It was like I had found out some secret society or formula to happiness The seller turned out to be a good/honest guy. I bought from him 4 years straight and also did some resale (friend and people I knew) to fund my new hobby. I bought a 100$ and sold it with 50$ profit. So I always ordered three watches at time and managed to get mine for free ... with some effort of inter-mediating! I knew that there were more expensive reps out there, but my dealer didn’t have any. Google’ing around one day I found out about this forum …I thought I knew thing or two about reps … wrong … my whole rep world was turned upside down I have been a daily reader of this forum ever since I joined ... what a family! I have been buying from our beloved trusted dealers and from M2M section. Only good experiences! Now that I know a bit more about reps (thanks to all of you), I have been focusing on the “shoe” department of rep world. My goal is to replace every rep leather/crap strap on my watch. So far I have one Orloff, some custom straps, couple of Hamilton’s (works of art, I'm a fan of his work) … ostrich and so on! I have two croc’s from Eric (Hamilton leather works) on the way and then I’m almost done with straps! It is great to be a member of this forum and I know that there is no cure for this “illness” ... at least not for me .. and i’m not looking for one anyway! Cheers! Gave them measurments and 70€. The hindges i installed myselfe ... Rivets are the best choise. Never use glue with plexi, it will grumble Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
