AP Diver Showdown: v4.1 vs v5 vs v6 (pic heavy comparo)

As promised, a comparo of three of the top Diver reps around. You can thank the fact that I am too lazy to sell any of my watches EVER to the fact that I actually have 3 versions of the AP Diver in hand!

 

Let's start with the pics and I will give a brief rundown of my thoughts in the end...

 

What is what?

V4.1 On left or Top or Datewheel IS set at "4"

V5 in middle or Datewheel is set at "5"

V6 On Right or Bottom or Datewheel is set at "23"

**Just for fun, I thought I'd showcase a few of my APs (and a bigass HBB Diver) ;-)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summary...

-Overall finish: V6 Wins!

-Sunken Bezel Screws: V4.1 and V6 Good, but V5 is better on this!

-AR Crystal: Draw

-AR Cyclops: V6 Wins!

-Lume: Holy Crap the v6 Glows (for a long time)

-Date wheel: V6 Better Font

-Inner Bezel: Draw (each has pros and cons)

-Strap: V6 Wins!

-Buckle: Draw!

-Case: V6 by a LANDSLIDE!

-Caseback: Draw!

-Crown: Draw!

 

Conclusion...

While the 4.1 and 5 models are FANTASTIC reps, when you see the brushing and how the V6 Shines like a gen in the sunlight and how it feels with an excellent presence, it is a no-brainer! V6 is THE SS Diver to get (in this rep comparison anyway). That's not to say you 4.1 or v5 owners should jump ship and get it. The conclusions I have drawn from comparing these are based mostly on marginal wins. In other words, when I say the V6 wins, it is not by a mile, but damn it is nice. The only thing I can say that makes this v6 jealous is that while the bezel screws are sunken, they are much better sunken on the v5. Not a big deal for me but that is the thing that stood out the most.

Again I need some help. When you say "next door" what do you mean? I can't find a TD on RWG named Ken or Physcospike. I just really like that watch. Can I ask what you paid for it?

Any pics of the movement? I think there are some differences with the rotor design between 5.1 and 6. Here is ours, and I believe it's a version 6.

On v6 is the white of the hands the same as the white on the markers?

Yeah it is, I've read about this elsewhere, its just the way the lume looks under those light conditions. Normally they would both be bright white.
