LightGeek 25 Posted October 9, 2015 Came back pristine. I was worried about SGCA Toronto but it seems some stories are unfounded. Took 4 weeks but she's good as new.
Ishmael 92 Posted October 9, 2015 That's cool. And expensive. How bout a wristy?
LightGeek 25 Posted October 9, 2015 I committed to the Nomos today so can't leave her out in the cold for a new (refreshed) one...
wdev 0 Posted October 9, 2015 Congrats, must feel nice to have her back as good as new So if I'm reading it correctly it has been tested to 3bar and it's running between 0.8 and 10 secs a day? That servicecost though...
wdev 0 Posted October 9, 2015 Oooh, and I LIKE your Nomos, very cool . It sure deserves the wristtime
Ishmael 92 Posted October 9, 2015 I committed to the Nomos today so can't leave her out in the cold for a new (refreshed) one... Thanks The Speedy looks nicely proportioned on your wrist; slightly big even. But I forget you have toothpick wrists
MoveAlong 23 Posted October 9, 2015 Damn, LG, that speedie is nice! What's the reference?
Piccolo 673 Posted October 9, 2015 Their service is really good - yes it costs, but they are really detailed with what they have done and why. Sending the old parts back is a nice touch too I think. Speedy reduced is a great watch, I have mine on right now. That Nomos looks class as well!
Pharmo 33 Posted October 9, 2015 Is that the speedy from brand you japan mate? I ended up buying one from him as well. I too was thinking of getting mine serviced too.

WPoste 0 Posted October 9, 2015 Speedy looks nice. Nice size choice. I am dreading the day I need to send in my Speedmaster purchased in 2005. Pricey cost but you get a nice red Omega carrying case...
ShovelnTC 31 Posted October 10, 2015 Your watch is probably my favorite Omega and it looks great but those level of service charges will likely prevent me from ever buying a good quality Gen.
MoveAlong 23 Posted October 10, 2015 Damn, LG, that speedie is nice! What's the reference? http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=108400&hl=&fromsearch=1 Damn you... Just damn you!
LightGeek 25 Posted October 10, 2015 Replaced all the hands (awww), crystal, gasket, pushers, crown... and the bastard chrono movement module.
LightGeek 25 Posted October 10, 2015 The crappy part is the acrylic crystal already has micro scratches fresh out of the case...
ShovelnTC 31 Posted October 10, 2015 The crappy part is the acrylic crystal already has micro scratches fresh out of the case... Mate that is disappointing and as much as I like the many great watches supplied with plexi I only buy watches with sapphire these days as It's just too easy to scratch plexi and even polishing will only take out the finer scratches. LightGeek 25 Posted October 10, 2015 I'm ok with scratches but only when I make them -- just like on a new car On the plus side, the lume on the new hands is crazy.
LightGeek 25 Posted October 10, 2015 I retract my pristine statement. There is an unacceptable amount of dust on the dial. Contacted my rep via email to see what they will do.
deju 1,873 Posted October 10, 2015 But it's gen dust!!
LightGeek 25 Posted October 10, 2015 But it's gen dust!! FS: gen dust from Omega watch, $100 obo
Sakurai 1 Posted October 10, 2015 They should reimburse you for half of the service fee - and give you a half off coupon towards your next Omega. They'd probably still make a nice profit...
MoveAlong 23 Posted October 11, 2015 Make them earn that $$ for sure and clean it. That's unacceptable. I am the most amateur of tinkerers, but I even hit the dial with rodico under the loupe before re-casing.
