baires 0 Posted May 26, 2015 Please forgive my ignorance, I got this picture as part of the QC process. What is being tested here? The crystal?
nunu78 1,743 Posted May 26, 2015 It Is a dry pressure test to test the water resistant.
baires 0 Posted May 26, 2015 Thanks! How do I interpret the result? I guess the green checkmark means it's water-resistant to some degree?
Wriggles 12 Posted May 26, 2015 Thats Puretimes water resistance QC pic. Technically QC pics are banned, not sure if this is allowed to be posted Anyway, if I remember right they include a printout of the WR test with the watch, should tell you what they tested it to. Usually 50m IIRC
baires 0 Posted May 26, 2015 Sorry, I knew that QC pics were banned in the context of asking "does this watch look OK to you?", but that's not the purpose of this post, I just needed to be educated about the machine in the picture. Mods, feel free to nuke the thread if this is a prohibited posting of a QC pic.
andyboy 5 Posted May 26, 2015 It is a QC pic,but under the circumstances and in the interest of education I`m quite happy it remains.
MadeInTaiwan 0 Posted May 27, 2015 Interesting. Are these machines expensive? Also looking for a timeographer. Kello sucks.
bobandshawn 5 Posted May 27, 2015 My bet would be VERY expensive, seeing as the cheapest wet ones go for a few hundred dollars...
GenTLe 1,510 Posted May 27, 2015 That's a dry tester. In my view the wet testers are more reliable and cheaper (but still over 180$). In any case without greasing the gaskets and check that all screws and case back are well tighten I wouldn't swim or shower with ANY rep. And even doing what said I wouldn't never ever swim with a chrono...
